You can pay for an inpection (few hundred) to then pay for the warranty. If they find anything like this you have to pay for the fix first

The JLR extended warranty is the safest bet but it’s seems you have to buy it before manufacturers runs out. So only cars less than 3 yrs. I looked at 3rd party warranties but hard to know what’s good?

Can this be done with any I-pace regardless of age mileage and service history?

If so how how much is it annually?

Sort of smile

Age is not a barrier but less than full Jaguar service history is a refusal

Warranty is high hundreds p.a.

I was quoted £590 for a 1hr extended warranty on a 2 year 10 month ipace. Would be interested to know cost on older examples

I know JLR dont have a stellar rep for reliability, but that does seem steep for 1 hour of coverage

Surely the cell failure would be covered under the 8 year battery warranty

I just bought a 2020 HSE for 290per month over 2 years, 3.5k deposit.

Approved used so came with 2years warranty, 2 years jaguar assist and free wall charger etc.

Great car but not sure I would be confident enough to buy one without warranty and Jaguar assist, particularly with the recall still rolling out.

So you’ve paid £3.5k more than the car supermarket which comes with a 1yr warranty - albeit much more limited

So youve paid £3.5k For 2yrs Jag warranty

The battery is warranty for 8yrs

The roadside is by the by. It’s mostly the AA anyway

Be surprised if the car had £3.5k of faults over the two years

They are specifically excluded from the used warranty

I'd break the windscreen and pay the excess in that case.

On another note I did 70 miles along flowing A roads today and got 3.6 miles per kWh. Amazed at the difference a few degrees warmer had made.

The charger is £1k, the 2 year warranty is £1.6k and include Jag assist which means you can stay clear of the dealers. I’d rather buy an approved car than a non approved car but each to their own.

Closer to £1200 over the term than £3500. Include charger cost and thats about £200 difference.

Jaguar assist is AA, but specifically for JLR in the silver vans. Standard breakdown will not help you other than to get the car low loaded.

Limited warranty will not get you far given the complexity and cost of repair.

Can't say i agree with this logic, on an I Pace I would not buy without JLR warranty, and will extend it as needed with them.

I bought a MY21 HSE from a non Jag dealer in January. They supplied a warranty though Car Care Plan. I've just had a warning on the dash to say the charging flap is open even though it's not, and have booked it in with my local Jaguar dealership for them to fix. The claims team at car care plan didn't bat an eyelid so hopefully will be straightforward.

It solves the problem but doesn't address the issue.

Passing the buck isn't ideal but if it's that easy to stick one on the insco, why not, eh?

How is that going to fix all the other potentially broken bits ?

Having eyes, I would notice steamed up windows and wet carpets straight away. If you ignore a damp car for long enough to break other stuff then that's on you.
