Is that the range that the guessometer is showing or the actual real range obtained ?

I've found that in my merc eqc the guessometer is very pessimistic, and seems to base its estimates on a formula that puts a very heavy and crude weighting on the outside temperature. eg, if its 9c or below, then it tends to reduce the range estimate by about 10% when compared to the range it estimates if it were 10c outside. ie its not a gradual sliding scale, but a big jump at 9c/10c

Thats the predicted range but from what I've found so far, it's always within a few miles so pretty accurate. A 20 mile journey uses +/- 3 miles of range usually.

For those that took out the Audi Approved Used Plus deal, do you have any details of the roadside assistance? Don't want to be scrambling around for their details should I need it - zero paperwork was provided other than the finance side by the supplying dealer.

update - TADTS - the drive shaft gaitors, apparently they "relax" over time and we only have 2k on it.

I also had a buzzing from the heating/ac - when i pressed "off" it went away. The technician came out when i dropped it off said there is a Audi TPI for it, involved moving some pipework, brackets which were rattling/buzzing. Went in at 10am and took an age (so much for while you wait...), laptop ran out of juice so went for some lunch and was ready at 3pm. I can still hear it too, just very faint now.... curse
With regards to the gaiter, did they replace that or say that's a feature of the car?

I got told if I had a breakdown to press the SOS button above the rear view mirror as it goes straight to Audi.

Within a week of noticing these deals I was seeing 350 cars in my search criteria, just two weeks later it was about 25. Although most of those aggressive deals were in December, some did filter into January and there was still an interest and a buzz on Etrons so I can believe that article and then some.

10 degrees seems to be cut-off for range from what I've seen so far. Now the outside temperature is above 10 degrees, I'm consistently getting 170miles of range and 2.5-2.7m/kwh now.

Lowest I've had from a full charge was 135 miles when the temp was -5.

50 model that is.
Temperatures have risen a bit this week and I've got the best mi p/kWh I've ever had.

Update on my charger install, I received the charger a few days ago but left it in the box, its been installed and although I paid for the 8m cable they sent the 5m version.

The installer said they've made a few errors like this so I'd recommend anyone who gets a charger delivered measure the cable if you've paid for additional length, so if its wrong you have time to get the right one sent before the install.

Props to Pro EV, he said he will come back tomorrow to get the cable length swapped over

Edit: Nobody came, will have to call tomorrow. Not happy...

Further update:

Nothing from ProEV, despite multiple emails, just a single response saying they've contacted Ohme.

I've now emailed Ohme direct, and will call tomorrow as it is very poor service from Pro EV. I hope others installs have gone smoother.
Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues. My experience of Ohme was excellent but initial impressions of ProEV were very poor. How can a company be taken seriously if they dish out appointments once a week? Can’t do the date we have randomly assigned you? Wait until next week to find out which random appointments we’ll give you again!

However, my installer (an Albanian chap) did a fantastic job with my install. Nice and neat and worked full speed straight off the bat. I’ve included some images below. My install wasn’t the most complicated but nonetheless it’s a nice finish in to quite a small space.

That’s outstanding! I got 2 mi/kwh at the weekend on a 30 mile return trip but generally struggling to get above 1.6. What’s the secret?! I leave mine in auto mode and use the air con at 21 degrees.

I believe SteveF1 has a 55 model which is far more efficient than the 50.

You should still be easily getting above 2.0m/kwh with a 50 though. If you’ve got a 55 and only getting 1.6m/kwh then something is seriously wrong laugh

I’ve got a 55 and think the best I’ve seen is 2.4.

Admittedly my journey home had light traffic and there were some downhill sections too. I tend to brake as much as possible using the regen paddle which definitely helps. Didn't need Aircon on as it was warm enough, just heated seats on.

Mine's a 50, definitely seen an improvement as the weather has warmed up but still some way off where I think it should be.

That's for my electric garage door. Because I don't have an internal door and the fuse board is in the garage, if I lose power I have a manual winch (with a key) so I can still open the door.

I’ve got a detached garage.

The feed was taken off the socket ring main in the house and cabled underground into the garage where I have small consumer unit feeding a few sockets and lights.

If I was to get a EV install I assume it would be a case of tapping into this consumer unit rather than the more robust set up I have inside the house ?

Does it not just break the circuit when turned in either direction?

This is mechanical, not powered. When you use the key it removes the cover allowing you to insert the winch to be able to manually open the garage by winching the slats up.
