Anyone know what the deal is with the cars parking brake?

Sometimes when I click the park button, the park brake automatically activates, other times it doesn't.

Seems really random, wondering if it's just me or whether I'm doing something wrong?

Mine is the same. I’m sure there’s some logic in it but I haven’t figured it out yet.

Same on ICE models of the same age. Try pushing the brake slightly whilst pulling the button up. It should engage every time then.

Just had a look at used prices and can't believe that the prices have got big drops. I was looking in mid December and the cheapest cars from Audi dealers were around the £26k mark, now there £22k!

I think these are going to end up costing Audi a lot of money. I have 15 months left on my PCP and the GFV at the end is £23k!

When I give it back it's going to be worth a lot less than that, plus the circa £3000 of incentives they gave me when I bought it.

How much interest are you paying them over the lease term?

Roughly £2300 over 18 months. Guess it recoups some of their losses but not all.

Again, how much interest has she paid on that lease over 4 years?

Just secured a 2020 etron 50 on the used-approved PCP deal which includes 2 years warranty, 2 services & MOT, Ohme home charger and £500 dealer deposit (it was generously £2.5k before Xmas, but I missed those). £1500 personal deposit and £299pm for 8k miles. Not as good as I've read for some on here - but I'm okay with the terms relative to what's available on the market.

Like many, I plan on handing it back via 'voluntary termination' at the 'halfway point' - which will likely realistically be month ~33 given I think one criteria is that half the total loan needs to have been repaid. If so - I would've had 33 months motoring for £344pm amortised.

Has anyone who did similar in recent days/months got any views to share about their experience? Net positive or something they regret?

Happy with mine so far, nearly 4 weeks and 500 miles in.

The range is not what I hoped for however, at 80% I am seeing 110, but am not getting that in real world, prob more like 80-90.

Also noticed, I charged it to 80% on sat night, didn't use until monday morning and it was showing 75%, suggesting it had dropped 5% just sat there. I didn't think that was supposed to happen? Will monitor that to see if a one-off.

last gripe, seems to have a knocking sound coming from somewhere over uneven ground / minor bumps, sounds like ARB / droplink bushes to me rather than suspension as bigger lumps in road / potholes don't bother it. I've reported to the supplying dealer and hoping to get it checked out by my local Audi dealer - would expect this to be covered by the warranty if there is an issue.

How to others use the regen? I found the auto a bit 'dumb' so set to manual and set to most aggressive setting, but not sure this is the most efficient as doesn't allow coasting it all, which is where I think EV's are at their best / most economical - that little experiment didn't last long, I am back in auto mode now and seem to be able to manage the regen with the slightest brake to initiate it into regen rather using the brakes.

Happy so far, if I can get the little knocking investigated and improve the range somewhat I will be happy!

Have not charged to 100% yet as trying to do my bit for the battery / planet (save mining more cobalt!) and have no need to max out the range.

Enjoying running all my whitegoods at 7p/kWh through the evenings too wink

That range is shocking really, it answers the thread title. It would put off the vast majority.
I’ll buy an EV when my diesel expires, one with a proper range.
My current car complains at 100 miles - fill me up!

That range does sound particularly bad to be fair. What sort of journeys are you doing?

I took a drive to the coast on Sunday and when I stopped to charge I had 20 miles left and had done 153 miles. (Image below at the end of the day showing the m/kwh).

Averaging 150-170 miles to a charge from my 50 model at the moment.

My list of random technical issues is growing too. Today when I got in, the indicator “bong” was INCREDIBLY loud laugh

Turned the car off and on again and it was fine!

That's because running a ICE car low risks picking up st from the bottom of the tank and potentially causing issue with the fuel system.

Got to say I'm surprised by some of the range figures being banded around here. Ran an eTron 55 BE on 21" wheels for 2 years and 20k miles and never saw less than 170 miles on a full charge even in the depths of winter. Average over that time was 215 miles (2.5 miles/kWh)

And how much range matters is entirely dependent on personal usage obviously. I can count on my fingers how many times we had to charge ours away from home, a full charge would usually last a week.

A very nice car, but that range is a turn-off.

Tempted by a 55 Vorsprung at £40k but can’t help feeling it’s worth £25k the day after I buy it.
PCP deals are expensive due to zero residual as well

Based on the current values, I wouldn't be touching a Etron at £40k!
