Home charger subsidies, requirements for home chargers in new houses and the Bik changes will all help tesla given they are the only manufacturer building volume Evs. Save £2700 a year with a SR+ and £6-7k a year with a model S vs BMW/Mercedes.
The impact won't be felt today from new build law changes, we are talking several years down the road, i.e. when other (ideally British put together is Mays intentions) cars are widely released.

The UK and Europeans have no desire to see Tesla lead over their own.

I honestly hope Jaguar do well , an EV400 Xj is exactly what the market needs today - hopefully not as rushed and inefficient as the iPace

Just to be clear. It’s a guarantee in the event if default. U.K. plc have not given JLR any cash
The article says the money is being given by the UK Export agency.

That is a government agency.

Sounds like it's a workaround so it doesn't fall foul of 'state aid' laws under the EU.
Thanks for pointing that out. Totally misleading article. It’s not a guarantee at all.

Well given tesla dont have manufacturing in UK why would they be invited?

Why isnt the UK in the running for the European gigafactory plans?

UK is more strict on illegal drug usage than the relaxed European's, Elon doesn't like that

That is how Tesla often decide on investment locations smile

It’s no coincidence the European centre for ms and mx processing is in Holland

And it’s equally no surprise that’s why the panel gaps are like, you know, cool man..

They've been announcing talks about a European factory every year since 2016 in Germany or the Netherlands. Still no progress. Maybe the market for their cars isn't big enough to support the size of factory they have in the US or are building in China.

UK Tesla sales are low volume historically, Model 3 who knows as they don't release the figures.

Well they seem to have reverted to LR and Performance with the new Performance being the same as the original Performance and subsequent Performance plus the performance pack, and the long range is also back which is priced about the same as the last performance, the one without the performance pack which is different to the first or last performance.

Confused?

Why's that? Because you'd feel like you were getting ripped off due to the price being that much higher than what you pay at home?

I'm with JPJPJP's thinking on that one.

Just another thing to wind up the customer base. Tesla, from 31 July, will no longer pick up your car when it needs warranty work or servicing at the Service Centre.

My daughter's Mini gets picked up. I've never tried with my youngest's ford fiesta (the garage is next to my station) but I suspect they would.

On a £100k+ car, IMHO, it is a required level of service.

It certainly removes part of the "premium" from the offer.

Though I thought service mostly came to you nowadays?

On the service question, I've heard stories of company car fleet managers trying to ring up service centres to make payments or arrange servicing and can't because it has to be the person whos got the car on mytesla to book through the app. Even autoglass/your insurance want to pay for calibration after a new windscreen if it needs doing and can't as they can't ring service.

Its simply not been thought through.

I'm sure Elon takes care of his own servicing arrangements if any need doing. Perhaps someone should tell him

They come to you usually. Also I'd not expect it on a 39k model 3. I never had my car picked up by BMW but maybe I just didn't ask.

Don't think anyone would be suprised at this, that target needed to be met no matter what.

Revealed today that Audi sold nearly as many E-Tron's in USA as the Model X in its very first month smile

On the plus side, Gigafactory China is ahead of schedule, so Tesla has the chance to establish themselves in China as the no 1 premium brand. Do you think they will Rob?

Fortune said:
Audi’s first-ever electric vehicle, the $75,000 e-Tron, is already contributing nearly 5% of the automaker’s sales mix.

The brand recorded 856 e-Tron sales in the U.S. in May, the car’s first month in dealerships. By comparison, the E-Tron’s closest competitors, the Tesla Model X and Jaguar I-Pace sold 1,000 and 228 units, respectively.
