You and I are definately not the same thank god, I'm not quite so touchy. Anyway, hope you all enjoy your cars when you get them...

Morning All,

I'm pleased to say I picked up my 330e last week and am very impressed, what I would like to know is if there is a combined consumption figure, on the dash all I see is the mpg which has sat around 32mpg which I am assuming is only the petrol consumption as I drove a few miles on electric and this did not change. I'm sure I read it somewhere on here before but now cannot see it and have looked through the on board computer and cant see anything?

Does this exist?

Thanks

What do you mean by combined consumption? Electricity doesn't come in gallons. The MPG you see is effectively a combined figure, as it is representative of when the engine is being used. IE when you're in electric only the MPG will be going up instead of down.

You can see the electric only consumption I think in KWh/mile or something aswell. To get 32mpg I guess you're doing lots of long trips or not charging?

Worth noting aswell there's the 'Trip' computer and the 'On Board' computer, they're each different and controlled differently aswell. You may be seeing the OBC figure on the dashboard, but if you use iDrive to get to the trip computer things might become clearer.

Should be getting my car back today after a week or so in the garage. Got to say I can't wait, really missed it!! The 320d I've been given is just way behind on every level.

Apparently it was faulty cells in the battery that needed replacing. Parts had to be authorised by BMW first which took time and then wait for qualified engineers to work on it as they can be quite dangerous because of the voltage (or at least that's what I got told by the BMW dealer!)

In response to Mr iPerformance, I used e-drive then took it to SAVE mode in there. Not sure what was/is the best way to keep the engine on as much as possible so was just playing around. My fear was doing a lot of driving on electric and never actually breaking the engine in, or taking an age for it to break in. Does anyone know how many miles should be done before they are driven to their max?

Very nice!

You need the phone app to see the estimated combined figure I believe which will show you detailed info. I guess it works by calculating how far a gallon of fuel will get you on a hybrid basis so petrol mpg may show 32.. But if you've travelled 70miles on that gallon then you'll be posting 70mpg all in.. I only assume based on what I've read.

Both the OBC and Trip Computer show the correct figure in my experience. The only problem is both are limited to '##.#' ie 2 figures, whereas the app will show actual economy if it's over 99.9mpg.

Quoted time is 6.1... But torque will be almost instant. 0-60 is often just pub figures.. Something like a mapped 335d however will have huge amounts of torque and pull like a train. I'm sure the PHEV route will see its way into performance cars as it makes them greener, and faster in the future just like the i8 etc.. The p1 and the Porsche equivalent are both hybrid and silly power so it's only a matter of time before traditional engines are used less..

As for the above query.. Engines these days are generally bench run so there's no need to run them in, although I usually wait till the car gets close to 1k miles before driving like its stolen lol as you'll usually find the car needs to loosen up, build up carbon etc

Obviously not the same although not so sure about your 'not so touchy' claim. I replied to Chris, with smileys, explaining my boring and miserable choices. Not sure why it upset you so much smile But I return in peace!

Anyway, like you I hope everyone enjoys their cars. I am only 24 hours in and must say I am very impressed so far. Way better than I expected even after 30 years of BMWs. I will update in a few days when I return home and with a few more miles done..

It's not as posh and well equipped as nearly all of the ones I,ve seen and heard about on this post, but it will stil drive the same, really looking forward to seeing her for the 1st time

are you just getting order codes from BMW genius or have you obtained a VIN?

My car is still code 1200 & expected delivery is week 25 - 20th June.. waiting is getting the better of me!

I'm not in Manchester but if you contact Rolec direct they set you up with a company that do installs for Rolec in your area. That's what happened to me anyway, happy with the unit and work carried out.

Yes I've used that site. It correctly identifies the car and it's options etc, but has no fields for anything to do with production as far as I can tell.
