Looks okay to me. EU deliveries are very lumpy. Doesn't look like a company in trouble.

And to me a fad is not about a marketing campaign, it’s about a social, viral craze for a brand or thing that is beyond the normal rationale and Tesla certainly fits that bill, and when that passes, you’ll find the real baseline. Tesla are getting so many things wrong at the moment that once real stories start coming out to many, once you personally know someone who’s V5 turned up with someone else’s car details, who’s brake fluid light comes on before they’ve got home, who can’t ring a service centre and the car hasn’t been activated in myTesla, who have spent 2 hours in hold for Tesla emergency help line, who’s car brake checks the car behind for no obvious reason.. they might start to have a different impression.
Apple phone sales are in decline as users start to buy more affordable and more capable phones, moving away from the supposed benefits of Apple user experience. But they still remain a huge force in phones, but further diversification into Smart Watches has helped keep the sales up. (I realise Apple existed before the iPhone, but many will probably look back on the Model 3 as being the car that the masses became aware of).

There's still a world of electric mobility that's waiting to go mainstream. Tesla won't be the first in many of those niches, but they could still yet be the biggest.

Smart phone sales are down across the board worldwide - IDC reproted 6.6% fall

The tech has pretty much matured and lasts longer - I used to change phone every 12-18 months, my iphone 6 is still fine 2 years later with no real need to change, thats whats hurting Apple as nuch as anything else

Apple Smartphones are in decline because Samsung came along and showed them how to do it properly, for less money. Same will happen with Tesla.

Couple of things
1) everyone that needed one probbably has one by now, you can expect it to grow forever
2) apple still are the highest end manufacturer with features noone else has, Pixel 4 may get faceid this year, so apple are 2 years ahead of the game. Noone else has facial unlock.

What is the benefit of facial unlock?
Is it when you forget to bring both thumbs and your password to the office?

It's a gimmick, not a game changer.

not a gimmick, for me its so much more practice and efficient to use, having to press a button seams old fashioned especially given i have a dozen or more apps that use face id to unlock or to authorise payments

still not a game changer thou, evolution over revolution

there in decline for many reasons, market saturation, large scale competition at lower prices, world on the verge of recession, the slow pace of innovation meaning there is little reason to upgrade year on year and the fact the old iphones just work so well, my OHs 6+ is 5 years old, runs super smooth and does pretty much everything the new phone does so why upgrade it

Never stops amazing me how loyal people are to their brand - if Apple solved world hunger and Google didn't the Google crowd would simply state they weren't hungry - and to be fair vice versa

Apple and the like needs the next big thing, The smart phone is done. The tablet is done. People buy due to failure of the old one more than the desire for a few extra pixels on the built in camera.

Agreed. Still rocking my 6+ and apart from camera quality it's just fine.
I understand the sept 2020 phone will be a step change. We will see.

Same with the fingerprint scanner, why not just use a passcode or pattern on the screen?

I think autonomous electric cars are the next big thing

I agree completely. I still don't see a need to replace my battered £140 new, 2 years old Motorola dual sim which runs all updated ups, has fingerprint recognition and all I need.

Smart phones are done.

Apple are still making a ton of money from phones though!

And they are shifting to services. This is what (relatively) nimble forward thinking companies can do.

Yep. Huge installed user base. The Apple card will earn them a tonne of cash. Apps and content is now a material contribution to earnings. Nothing wrong with Apple. And they will have some game changers in the lab for sure.

its nothing to do with being a fanboi, apple make very good, reliable, secure and private, high quality finish products with an eco system nobody else can match

its not all good of course, their pricing is a total piss take (although the stuff does last and have a high resale value) and their repair and parts practises are morally bankrupt outside of warranty

Apple like Microsoft are moving heavily into subscription services because of the limited growth for hardware products. They are also moving heavily into financial services with apple pay (a joy to use with apple watch) and their new credit card

Using a forward facing camera isn't quite the same technology.

You should read up on how faceid works.

Easier than a passcode, and both (patterns especially) can be seen. Fingerprint is great for mobile banking.

I wouldn't buy a phone without a fingerprint scanner now.
