MAX range would be about 150 miles in this cold weather.
But there are loads of super chargers about these days, 20 min stop to top up every 100 miles would be possible.

No you can't pre heat automatically, but I popped out and put heater on, think I could leave it on charge, but it don't like that.

However the heated seat is fast and hot, so it'll only use a little bit as you can't leave it on!

There was a problem with the car going to sleep and would not charge on a timer charging unit (no built in timer).
But a software upgrade has been done, so it'll wake up if the charger switches on now.
If the car only wakes up when the charger switches on as it has no built in timing system, how will you set it to charge at the 5p rate. i assume the 5p rate is during the night.

Hate to brust your bubble there aren't loads of Rapid chargers around, if anything things are no better than in 2015 for long distance EV travel.

Your also not going be adding 100 miles in 20 minutes, the ZS seems to do 3 miles per kWh, so 100 miles needs 33kWh, adding that in 20 minutes requires a sustained average charge rate of 100KW, not even a Model 3 can sustain that as soon as you go over 50% SOC.

You're looking closer to 45 minute to 1hr to add 100 miles range in a ZS on a 50KW charger - presuming you find a CCS charger that works smile.

Thanks for the info.

How are you getting on with the MG? My wife has been looking at this with her now extended commute.

Please tell me i dont need to use my phone to set the charger timer?

Probably best to start off with the fact that if you want to impress friends and neighbour's with a beautiful car, the MG probably isn't for you. But for everyone else considering an EV, this is a very viable proposition.

It's not that it's bad looking - it's just a typical small/midsize SUV that looks pretty generic. It doesn't stir the senses.

That aside - it's very accomplished. It drives well, it's well put together, it has a nice cabin and overall, delivers a pleasant driving experience.

I've been reading this section a lot recently and not many people talk about this car. So thought I would start a thread for everyone and also, just to draw some attention to it as I believe it strongly deserves that attention.

For £24.5k top trim model, you get a 44.5kwh motor, 0-60 in a 8 seconds, capable of 160 miles of mixed driving and an absolute ton of features as standard. The spec list is incredible for a car in this price class. You can even dumb down to £22.5k for the lower trim and lose a few features if you don't need them.

Overall, I think MG have done a great job with this car.

I’m running one of these as a long-term test car for the magazine/website/channel I work on, and it arrived on Monday. I’ve already done a review of the car on the channel, but that was only after a week with it. I’ll be running this one as my daily for the next 3 months, so any questions or info anyone needs, please do get in touch and I’ll be happy to help.

I think it looks good, in a no-nonsense kind of way.

Yes it's not what you could call an aerodynamic shape.

My mum's had hers since xmas eve and seems to be getting on quite well with it now. Recons it took a bit more getting used to than the previous i3 she had.

I've borrowed it a couple of times and tbh I prefer it to the bmw. It's more plasticky inside yes but it has way more kit, rides better and feels quicker.

Doubt it impresses the neighbours as much but she got one of the first 1000 so got the top spec car with a home charger for bottom spec money. Even managed to get it on 0% finance from some deal the Scottish government is currently running.

Makes sense if you just want to get about in an EV at a reasonable price.
