Maybe it's the wording they used, Waterloo isn't a town. I don't know and I can't find the article now. Either way, I won't be using any bus regardless of its propulsion.
Quite right too. In my view anyone between the age of 18 and 70 that gets on a bus has failed at life in some way.

I'll get flamed for saying that, so let me do a proper job and extend it to people that get on a transfer coach on holiday too. Man up, hire a car and stop being cattle smile

Couldn't agree more. Especially the transfer coach when abroad. Mind you I've only booked a package twice in 15 years and that was only because it was actually cheaper than booking separately.

Back on topic. Thinking about it, I'd probably use the bus then metrolink into Manchester when going out for drinks but the bus finishes at 7pm in a live in a village. It's actually more expensive than driving.

I don't mind city trams/trains - but I'd get a taxi to the station and go from there wink

The rule is that I won't get on any public or shared transport unless it's faster and cheaper than a car. So the Underground is OK, it's the best solution. Catching the bus into the local town to go shopping is not. This is Piston heads after all - car fans rejoice in private transport, it's a hobby that generally costs less than playing Golf, but unlike playing Golf also fulfils a practical purpose and gets you from A to B biggrin

Sorry for going off topic, back to electric buses. They're fine, they're safe - safe enough to justify their existence vs diesel buses that don't do anything so dramatic as turn supernova but do drag particulate pollution around densely populated areas and silently reduce lifespans in ways that can't really be reported and don't have the shock value of a good old fashioned fire. I support electric buses. But obviously, don't get on one - it's still a bus.
