A fair bit of news in the world of Evezy today...

“ It's Rob here, founder and CEO of Evezy. We’ve had amazing growth in the last 12 months. We’ve seen subscriber numbers go through the roof and we would like to thank you for being a part of the journey. As such we’ve had a bunch of challenges which we’ve overcome and in the spirit of transparency we want to share them with you. More importantly, we want to share some of the exciting developments we’ll be launching soon and get your feedback!

Waiting lists

Over the last 12 months, we have been growing rapidly; we now have over 1,100 subscribers and hundreds of vehicles arriving in the next few months alone! We currently have just over 600 customers on our waiting lists across all models. Our average waiting time will be coming down quickly with the orders arriving and we realise we need to get better at communicating this to you. From tomorrow we will have the estimated time until delivery for all cars on our website. If you are on the waiting list then we will be emailing you frequently to update you on your position, starting with an email tomorrow.

What updates do we have in the pipeline?

New vehicles - we have 4 brand new models that will be available on our website in the coming two months. More information will follow once we have delivery dates confirmed.

Handsfree unlock - we currently have a new feature in R&D which would allow your vehicle to unlock automatically when you walk up to it, without getting your phone out of your pocket.

Additional mileage - we will be offering packages for more monthly miles in the coming weeks, for those of you who drive more than 1,000 miles a month.

European travel - we are doing final tests and expect it to be an available bolt-on in March. The delays have been organising European breakdown cover, ensuring nothing changes with Brexit and looking at the changes we'd need to make for local regulations.

Salary sacrifice scheme - from April, we are introducing the option to subscribe to an Evezy car through your employer. With a 0% benefit-in-kind rate from April, this is an effective way for both you and your employer to save even more money. Let your employer know you want it and have them get in touch with us!

How our business model works

In case you have been wondering how we can offer more flexibility than a lease at a comparable price, I'd like to share how our business model works. We buy cars in bulk, directly from the car manufacturers. Bulk buying allows us to negotiate conditions that would not be achieved by an individual or even a leasing company. This enables us to pass on the low subscription prices to you. This also means you will only ever have a monthly commitment, as the finance sits with us, rather than against your name (like on a PCP contract).

Pricing

At the end of 2019, we realised we had misjudged some prices when we launched 18 months ago. We made a tough decision that we needed to adjust our prices for new customers in 2020 in order to continue to grow sustainably. We still believe we are extremely good value for an all-inclusive service and actually a comparable price with lease deals (better value when considering all the included extras like insurance, public charging and only a one month commitment). The price increase only affects new customers, so if you have a vehicle already or are on a waiting list, you won’t see any change.

Community Forum: We'd love to hear your feedback

We have just launched our own forum, where you can ask us or other members questions directly! This is a 'go to' place for interaction about the service, leaving feedback or speaking to other Evezy members.

We are trying to improve the service by listening to your feedback. Please let us know if there is anything you think we could improve or if you have ideas for new features. This article will be posted on our forum on this link, where we'd love to hear from you!

Finally, we know that we will definitely get some things wrong as we go, but we are all working as hard as we can to ensure we keep improving and avoid making the same mistakes twice.

Thanks for your support, together we can help make our roads emission-free!

Best wishes,

Rob Jolly”

I wonder I will be able to move my current hire to salary sacrifice without going up to the new rates... that would be a decent perk.

Can anyone tell me how the salary sacrifice scheme works when an electric car will be 0% rated from April?

I am a one man band limited co and wondering if this is a way to get a M3 under the company name.

ive tried the restart of phone plus uninstall/reinstall. Its worked on friday when the tech was here and I havent touched the car since, until this morning.

I have OK signal where i live (2 out of 5 bars) but when i go outside the wifi drops down to 1 bar, so i disabled both wifi and mobile data and low and behold it works, be interesting to see how this pans out - cant be bothered having to keep disabling wifi and mobile data every time i leave/enter my house to lock/unlock
2 out of 5 bars for phone and 1 bar for WiFi are essentially as good as having zero connection I've found. On my phone if 4g signal shows half filled bars it barely works.

You may be better leasing or buying it as I think you'll struggle to find get a salary sacrifice company that will supply a business with just one car. I'd suggest you talk to your accountant as it can be quite complex depending on your personal circumstances. I leased mine - it is probably the simplest way of doing it.

With any luck the passive entry solution they are working on will mean this is no longer a problem.

Looking at leasing a Tesla 3P via my company and comparing prices for Evezy vs Tesla.

Evezy is currently £999/month for a M3P.

Evezy works out cheaper if leasing for 2 years at £24k overall whereas Tesla overall would be around £26-27k (inc. deposit).

However if leasing for 3 years, leasing from Tesla works out cheaper. Evezy would be £36k whilst Tesla around £31-32k.

So even with the price increase, it seems Evezy is still a really good option for shorter rentals however for longer leases you are better off sticking with standard PCP contracts.

I have paid for the Tesla M3P back in early September and still haven't received it. Notwithstanding what they said in the email when they announced the new prices, I'm under the impression they will never deliver my car and I feel I'm being scammed (every week they tell me wait next week).

Is anyone in the same situation?

Evezy ought to have a load of cars coming with the last boats coming before end of Q1. I would chase them in a couple of weeks if you haven’t heard anything, as if you aren’t allocated a car by then there aren’t any more Model 3s coming before May/June.

Thanks Durzel! Will do as you suggest... After 7 months another couple of weeks won't make any difference. After which I will cancel both mine and my wife's subscriptions and will make sure every car forums in the UK is aware of their "business practices".

Why wait?
Surely you need to let them know that if they dont supply a car in the next 2 weeks or so- that's what youre going to do?

Evezy might not know how many are actually coming until then. I’ve had a delivery text but I know people who have ordered before me haven’t. Until they’re asked to collect cars they likely won’t know themselves.

Then I'd prefer them to be honest rather than promising something they can't guarantee. The first delivery date I was promised was October then every month they have pushed one month back. The car will arrive eventually, but I think that being an old subscriber with their initial rates they will most likely give me a returned car and assign the new one to new customers. Besides, I was number 3 in January and number 2 now, should I really believe they have only received 1 car in 3 months? The only reason I'm sticking with them is I don't want to jump in an electric and commit for many years until I have tried it first. One I have the car I'd most likely stick with them for years as they are only marginally expensive than pcp or similar in the long term...

It's just that I'm losing trust in them.

Blimey. I thought my wait from July to December for our M3P last year was epic, but 7 months? eek

I'd just keep telling myself it'll be worth the wait. With the change to both EVEZY prices and the government support on £50k+ cars the £799 a month all in deal is even more of a bargain than ever.

That 1 car would likely have been the red M3P they have which the initial subscriber only kept for 2 months (with the first month of that spent with Tesla being fixed whilst he drove around in a Model S).

They've not had any new Performance models since the first December batch as far as I am aware and told everyone in December they wouldn't get any more cars till March?

It was indeed, and considered cancelling more than once due to frustration but honestly worth it in the end.

The car itself is brilliant and you wouldn't be able to lease one on a 3 + 35,12k mile a year deal for cheaper than £799 now. With no commitment and everything included it's a ridiculous price, as they are well aware so upped it by 25%.

Yeah. The recent grant exclusion from the P made it £3500 more expensive overnight. There’s the luxury tax charge which will help a bit, but not much.

£799 is great considering no deposit and no commitment.
