Tesla and Uber Unlikely to Survive (Vol. 2)

I assume in the USA it’s a non starter anyway as they use a proprietor Tesla plug over there?
Yup - the small connector, proprietary for Tesla models only. I am not going to suggest that the public (well, lets call it 'away from home / work') charging network isnt bad here. Its not great in some areas, but overall its not too bad. But too many networks, incompatible apps and variable charging rates. Tesla does a good job to make it much more consistent, but have to think that its not going to go down well here.
The more I think about it, the more I just dont think it will come to the US. Its absolutely not in their interest to do this. Dynamics are a bit different here, since the VAG fines paid for the Electrify America network, I would see Tesla fighting any opening up on the basis that they want VW to pay its dues for the stupid behavior. Of course, its all commercially focused since they can tie up VAG while they keep shipping cars.

It dropped from 870ish to 570ish when the whole market shat itself , took a bit longer to get back to that but on the timescale of months its irrelevant tbh.
Saying that I'm not buying at 1200 ...
I am just calling it on experience. And no I tend not to short stocks. I usually get caught because it’s not rational (any move on no real news). The risk you run mate, is that you, and I’m being straight, stay irrational. Try to think, when enough is enough. People aren’t rational and there is no new secret sauce. Your call. I’ve never felt sorry, banking profits-maybe initially but when it goes pop you change your tune. Saying that I'm not buying at 1200 ...

I think we have fundamental differences on what tesla is and where they are going. I'm in until about 2025 or so , as I said I dont trade (tax implications) I invest, and I dont need the funds either way.
I think you’re right. Willing to accept that. I’m a numbers guy and I can’t make it work. All the best ‘Bro’ . TameBritishMuslim said:

I'll probably keep some past 25 but theres only so much money you need.
Especially if Cathie Wood's forecast for 2025 comes to fruition!ETA: I own a Tesla. Looking at buying a second. I like the cars. Just the stock price is likely come down a bit imho.

It’s typical of a momentum stock. I’m not being controversial. It’s a huge bubble that may run to 1500 but it will pop. If anyone is truly up 50 bags and sitting tight they are insane.
Indeed. There are people congratulating themselves on their foresight and understanding of the market, whilst those around them are scratching their heads. I couldn't make a prediction about what happens next, but it's going to be fascinating to watch.Twice I've seen colleagues make their millions on stock, hold out for millions more and end up watching their retirement fund evaporate as the market catches up with reality. Would I bet against Tesla the business? No. Would I bet on them at these levels? No.

So what is Tesla getting out of allowing others to use fheir network.
Their mission statement. Read it.news said:
the company announced on Monday that it is launching a pilot program under which it will make 10 of its Supercharger stations in the Netherlands usable for non-Tesla vehicles. Non-Tesla vehicles will pay more than Teslas for a charge, but a membership program that lowers the prices will be available, the company said. If the pilot program goes well, this could lead to a new revenue stream for the automaker.
Not mission statement Rob, Dollars.JonnyVTEC said:
1210. Wow. Nearly had a go at 900 to jump in but through that 1000 might be some sort of ceiling. Thought that last time though.
Utter lunacy.
Had a look around and the only changes are firstly the Netherlands charger trial, and secondly that Tesla China today announced a zero down payment lease option, along with several other financing options.Utter lunacy.

Not sure if the lithium deal to secure large amounts has also help maintain momentum. Gassing Station | EV and Alternative Fuels | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
