So who's going to hazard a guess as to the "goodwill payment" Renault offered me.

The total I paid in lease whilst the car was off the road was £156 & a few pennies.

£75, less than the payments on the car in that time.

Told them to go and have another think.

Renault came back with a revised offer, of a 3pin slow charger. Which I'm happy with as I was looking to buy one & they are not cheap. Slight difference from their first offer.

How slow are they to charge? I thought 18 hours was what I read somewhere.
something around that, nice to have as a fall back if we go off to visit friends & no public charge points nearby.

I can't quite believe this, but the HVAC system is playing up....again.

Started making the same noise it did last time, this piss poor reliability is becoming beyond a joke.

After several attempts at getting customer care to call they finally do (shortly after I sent an e-mail to Renault group MD).

Gave them two options.

1. Collect the car, leave me with a Zoe whilst mine is being repaired.

2. Replace the car given my previous experience.

Apparently the heating on a Zoe does make more noise than on an ICE engined car, that I agree with. But really.......

This is looking really bad for the reliability of the Zoe.

I'm slightly worried.
Slightly worried!!

Goodness me (or words to that general effect!)
My problem is I like the car, it's better in my opinion than the Leaf. It's a nicer thing to sit in & a better looking car. Otherwise it would be handed back I I'd be walking away.

Noise is ridiculous, assuming that it's recorded from a position in a seat and not with the mic pressed up close to the source. I'm sure you're not doing that IN51GHT but you know what I mean.
It's taken from above the engine, the source is buried way down under the car.

Ok so out of interest what does it sound like with bonnet closed, and sat inside?
Loud enough that you can hear it at 40mph.

That's a bit crap. Look forward to hearing what Renault have to say.

Finally starting to get a little joy with Renault.

They have offered, if I want, to take the car back, I said that's the next step if it fails again. My problem is I prefer the Zoe the the Leaf, so if I can get a reliable Zoe I'd like to stick with it.

I am also being given the repairing dealerships Zoe demonstrator whilst mine is being repaired.

So at last it looks like Renault may be starting to take notice.

There is a glimmer of hope.

Customer care have called again tonight, the heating pump has failed, same failure mode as last time.

his time they have established the reason for failure. There is a leak, allowing the gas & lubricant to escape, thus the bearings run dry & ultimately fail. This leak was not picked up during the initial repair, but they seam convinced it was there.

Renault UK are sending their own EV specialist down tomorrow to check the car over & make sure it's fixed properly.

It is somewhat surprising the AC system does not have a "Low Pressure" switch in it?
It does but it would appear it's set too low.

Still with MY Zoe.

They've done the testing post repair & found another fault on the HVAC system, requiring a part from Frenchland.

Also, a couple of bits need replacing, which are also on back order.

I must admit I am a little concerned that quite so many faults are apparent on a brand new car.

Just to report all running OK now.

BUT.

Just got back from my hols to find a letter from the DVLA telling me the old car is uninsured, a letter with a penalty for not paying congestion charge on the old car, dated 27/03/15 and a letter for the new car saying it's not taxed.
