Every day I read someone on here claim that people who drive a Tesla or an EV aren't interested in cars or driving. To prove a point, I thought it's about time that us EV-driving car enthusiasts showed off the "other" cars in their life. Here's mine:

The premise inherent to this thread is you can't be a car enthusiast if your enthusiasm is for EVs not ICE - as the two posts so far are of petrol powered vehicles...

Is that correct?

Surely a car enthusiast is simply someone enthusiastic about cars, irrespective of the exact make/model/type of car...?

So if you're enthusiastic about your EV, then you qualify, just the same as someone enthusiastic about their Ferrari, or Lotus, or Focus RS, or old Fiesta, or battered Avensis.

I recently swapped this 'do everything' car:

For this daily:

And this toy:

I have no regrets. I keep telling people that I can't imagine having an ICE vehicle as a daily driver ever again.

And the Lotus is obviously about as good as it gets for a useable and involving weekend car / track toy.

I'm an EV driver and I'm very much a car enthusiast. I've had a list of S&RS Audis, my last one being a stage 2 modified RS7 with 747ps.

In March I moved to a 2016 Tesla Model S P90DL. Now my Audi's were quite big heavy boats rather than fine handling lightweight cars but I'm really enjoying the move to an EV.

IMHO the Tesla on the road is faster in every way. The turn in and handling is much much better than my RS7 and the instant toque and acceleration is addictive. I drive my car hard and enjoy it as both a family car and a stealth performer. Yes at illegal speeds the Audi would eat it for breakfast but for day to day driving the Tesla is far more enjoyable, and crucially much cheaper too.

Now with corona I've been contemplating replacing the Alfa with a proper fun two seater though.

As someone mentioned, can't imagine having anything else than an EV for a daily.

I'd take my milk float over both the cars in your actual garage but that's my humble opinion. (Skoda Octavia VRS, Lotus Elise 220 Cup)

One has terrible build quality, is noisy, uncomfortable and so far hasn't been that reliable.
The other one is fantastic, hasn't let me down, comfortable on long trips and always raises a smile when I drive it.

Please guess which one is the TVR and which one is the Tesla!

Just to buck the trend, and I'm still in the honeymoon period, but... having traded in my 981 Boxster for an i3 I can't see myself going back.
Looking forward to an electric MX5!
