I've heard that too, but haven't tested it for obvious reasons. Tbh I haven't actually used the park assist in anger, only to show friends. It is quite slow, and I can park reasonably well on my own I only got it for the front sensors (it's quite difficult to judge the front end, partly because it's so short and you can't see it.

The active cruise control thing is part of the driving assistant option, a different thing altogether btw.
