I’m interested in selling our current Passat GTE to get a BEV. The only estate is the MG which I really don’t like so it’s an SUV of some sort (a saloon won’t work for us so Model 3 is a non-starter)

I quite like the look of the Enyaq and am planning to go to a dealer in the next few days to hopefully see one in the metal. Mostly range is a non-issue. Maximum normal journey is 50-60 miles round trip max. But infrequently I do need to do a 3-400 mile trip

Is the 80 worth it over the 60? Range is a bit better but charge rate is massively better. I think the charge rate is more important. But would a 60 with the updated 100kw charging make sense?

In terms of options our current car had ACC and 360 cameras. We have agreed we won’t change to car without these. Which seems to mean Assisted Drive basic and Parking Plus as a minimum. I’d also want the heat pump I think. Parking Plus means one of the two Convenience packages too. Anything else worth considering?

I’d happily have a lightly used one but they don’t seem to exist with the spec I want so may have to be new. Any ideas on lead times?

It looks like they reduced the option price of the heat pump from 1250 to 1000 and refunded the difference. But it still makes a difference. Although in the typical temperature ranges in the UK not as much as, say, Scandinavia

On the online configurator I can’t see an option to add 100kw charging to the 60 model. 50kw charging would be a significant limitation for longer trips especially when couples with less range

100Kw chargig is std on the 60 now.
That certainly makes the 60 much more desirable and a more workable proposition. Either will require at least 1 stop for the longer trips we do so fast charging is a real need. It also makes the various demonstrators with 50Kw charging being offered for January sale much less appealing

Went to look at an Enyaq at Skoda York. Liked it enough to place an order. 52 week lead time! However the price agreed today is the price we’ll pay when it’s delivered. Expect the price will have gone up by the time it’s delivered

Spec can be finalised later but went for 60 Loft Nav with Parking Plus, Driver Assist Plus, Family Basic, Convenience Basic, Climate Plus and Drive Sport Basic. Think we will also go for metallic blue paint

Have not actually driven one yet! Wanted to get the place in the queue reserved. Will test drive in the coming weeks

Will a Model Y with similar spec (ACC and 360 cameras are the important parts) cost £40k? Will it also not have a massive lead time?

The deal is our £500 deposit is fully returnable up to the point of delivery and we get the car at todays price no matter what the price is raised to by next year. So basically it’s a no-lose situation. If something that is better for us becomes available can just switch to that

Well they start at £55k….
It was a somewhat rhetorical question 🙂. I don’t expect a similar sized Tesla to compete on price with a Skoda. Also full 360 parking cameras with above view don’t seem to be an option and we use them a lot on our current car. So for our particular case the Skoda is a better option anyway

Thanks for that: have joined the Facebook group.

In terms of options the car we saw had the powered boot. It’s not something we’ve had before and seeing it on the car did not sell it to us as a must-have. It’s £500 to go from Convenience to Convenience+ so we will be leaving that

The wife really does not want the sunroof! And we don’t tow: had a 5 series touring with a tow bar for 7 years and we didn’t use the tow bar once. In fact it ended up being a liability as it eventually went wrong and threw an error on the dash every time the car was started
