I was on the roundabout. It got a bit sketchy around midnight with crow scarers being lit and thrown into the crowd. One went off a few meters from us, luckily we saw it and protected our ears. I think a few others might be nursing some fked hearing. One poor driver had a guy stood on his roof as he drove round. Most others were rocked to the point the car was on two wheels. Mostly British tts going too far.

Sadly, this is the negative side of modern Le Mans since they started actively promoting the event through UK popular agents. It now attracts too many kids who can't quite able to control themselves in public and become over emotional and seemingly confuse the event with Aya Nappa.
But at least it is still contained in specific zones that can be avoided.
The fact that supposed car fans travel hundreds of miles and then end up vandalising people's cars sadly says all that needs to be said about modern Le Mans.

Not just the British misbehaving, but outside MB, I had a French tw@t open the door to my T5, thinking it was funny, he tried it again as I started to move off. This time I had triggered the door locks.
I normally avoid driving on Mad Friday, but I had to go to Paris to find a wheel bearing for a Mustang. It took 50 minutes to get from MB to Houx. After 8 hours of driving to help a friend out, I was not in the mood for anything but a beer and some food.

Arnage was very quiet on Friday, well compared to what I've been used too in years gone by!
Distinct lack of special metal as well, a few years ago every other car was of note, not anymore.
The stag night, mob element have put paid to that I'm guessing. Real shame!
Most of the nice metal seems to go to the Classic instead where you just get enthusiasts not chavsDistinct lack of special metal as well, a few years ago every other car was of note, not anymore.

We went to the Classic in 2012 and it was exactly how Le Mans used to be 15 years ago. Lots of nice cars, lots of civilised people of all ages and all walks of life having a laugh together. Le Mans was more civilised when you had feral gypsies skulking about nicking anything that was nailed down.

Shame to hear it's still going on I went to LM 9 years on the trot and eventually stopped because of the 'thug' element. The early years were the best years, I have no desire to go and watch thugs and idiots abuse peoples cars. Such a shame.
See, I went in 2009 and there was plenty of burnouts / idiots on the strip outside MB campsite, went back last year and TBH didn't see anything! Don't know if its 'cause we were in the circuit more, but I reckon the idiots can be avoided with a little planning. There will always be the nobbers playing bad euro trance until 5 in the morning (Dutch guys in camping Blue im looking at you!) but that's part of the whole campsite experience.I've been going since 2003 and at first I thought it had improved this year. Getting around on Thursday/into Friday morning was very quiet. The first year ever I've got into Le Mans without being asked for a burnout. Just a couple of people asking for me to rev it. Whilst eating at Arnage high St on Thursday night it was almost dead. I thought there was an increase in supercars there this year, more like it was when I first started going, there also looked to be a lot of CRS there this year too so figured that may have been helping, but.....
Roll on Friday night. We got one of the last trams back to the circuit, walking back from the tram stop towards the Beausejour roundabout and the road was quiet but it was clear it had been pretty stty at some point by the amount of broken glass and crap we had to walk around. Then by the time we got to where we were camping, you could see and hear all the st going on at the roundabout along with the noise of the fireworks being let off along the road and of breaking bottles.
Friend of mine was with his brother and trying to get back to our site after being in the parade. Fortunately somebody stopped him before Beausejour and strongly advised him to turnaround because people were ripping bits off cars down there and generally trying to trash them. Having already seen a police van infront getting slapped and rocked, With nowhere to go, they turned round and headed back to Arnage and parked up on somebody's drive, who were very accommodating. Sometime between 2-3am he walked back down to see if it had quietened down. It had but was still no place to take a car you care about. He got talking to a group of Brits and said he had his brother and his car stuck up the road and they basically blocked traffic approaching from the other direction so that he could come down and in without stopping on the wrong side.
Whilst I agree with comments about getting back mid afternoon latest and have always avoided areas known to be bad, I think this time it kicked off in areas that don't normall get too bad.
Having been at the ring 24h a few weeks ago, there is so much difference
