Fabulous series, Loved the 1955 episode and the 2000 one, Whole boy, how the track has changed over the years.
Found it interesting that at Mulsanne corner was a total lack of trees yet from the Dunlop Bridge through the Esses to Tet rouge was a forrest.
Nowadays its the other way round, with conifers all the way from Mulsanne to Indianapolis.

Yep i think they must have been short of 1963 coverage, ok Ferrari walk over but i have seen much longer footage of the Rover turbine running in 1963 than the entire coverage. Plenty of interesting stories that year and even saw a glimse of what looked like a morgan for almost a second.
Oh well lets hope friday's 1964 is longer

I was actually there but got very confused at first with the mazda doing so well, until i looked it up, they were using a Jude V8 rather than a rotary engine. Remember it was a very wet year during the race. Programme lasted almost 2 hours compared to usual 30 mins. Have a feeling the french win might have had something to do with that.

Just watched 94, wow the GT classes back then were incredible. Such a variety of cars, just imagine the sounds from a Bugatti to a Detomaso Pantera via a few Honda NSX's and NIssan 300's. Throw in a bunch of Venturi's an Alpine A610, F40's and a Viper.
Really enjoyed that episode. Noted Mr Spinner in the DeTomaso was the bloke that fked up BHSGassing Station | Le Mans | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
