Spectator numbers

I am at table with a member of the ACO committee. At a meeting yesterday it was confirmed that the number of tickets will be 50,000 PAYABLE plus the usual freebies for marshals and their friends. However, what shocked me was to learn that all camp sites are to remain shut. NO CAMPING AT THE CIRCUIT AT ALL.

Interesting to hear as that's slightly different to the Thursday announcement which mentioned:ACO said:
Several campsites and car parks will be available
Have also had an email from the ACO which mentioned:ACO said:
In order to respect the sanitary measures in effect, only parking and camping areas outside the circuit are open
Which I think possibly means Houx, Annexe, Karting Nord, Beausejour, and possibly the Team Langoustine, AirTrack, and any other camping options that are inside the circuit will not be open.I think the French health passport will be an issue for us in the UK; diplomatic relations are not at their best as such a priority to recognise our own system will not nw hurried. My guess is that the events in the UK require a vaccine passport would probably not accept then French system
I still intend to head down if no quarantine on return and certainly try for an entry.....looks like my campsite, Garage Vert, will be closed

At a guess, I imagine the ACO did not bother informing the Private site owners of any decisions made and they are still trying to get a grip on the information that was sent to members!!
Hopefully they will provided them with more information and they will then have to decide if they can be there.
There must be lots for them to consider! Not only the restrictions the ACO put on numbers and locations etc. But from memory most of the staff they take with them are quite young, I cant imagine they would get both jabs in time. I also wonder how they are going to get their supplies of food in, bacon etc?
Also, does any one know how the staffing situation would work, can they take UK staff and have them working there? Will the French insist on EU staff?
Lots to consider !!

The plot thickens...
Thanks for the insight. Epinettes is an interesting one. Bleu Nord would be a more obvious choice.
With Lowdrag hearing (from an ACO committee member) that there's no camping, the mention from the ACO that there will be some campsites open, and this update... sounds like whatever happens will be a random spin on the roulette wheel.

Has anyone holding a credit note with the ACO actually received an email offer of tickets yet? And if so, were there any car parking options offered?
Nope, based on the email received last week and the online details it implies your credit note will simply carry over, so not expecting to buy any tickets. This is quite sneaky really, the time made available to accept a refund has been quite small, so some people may have missed the option, which means the ACO keep the cash and issue the tickets which are then not used. Keeping everything crossed for August.Vette_1978 said:

Interesting to hear. Is that right?Intrigued as the email correspondence I've had with the ACO over the last few days suggests there's the option to arrange a full or partial refund after the tickets are on sale. Saying that I've yet to see a specific deadline for when the refund window closes - but have asked the question.

I could be wrong. But the wording on the email says "your order will be processed automatically before tickets for on sale". I thought the decision on refunds had to be made prior to general sale on the 21st otherwise anyone with a credit note would get the tickets for this year. I doubt the ACO want to be worrying about people returning tickets for refunds who didn't get in their refund request quick enough. There was no deadline date mentioned, but I read it to be the on sale date. Ah. Well as with many of these things the announcement was suitably gallic and clear as mud.
Fortunately in the meantime the ACO folks have come back and confirmed "there is no deadline to ask for a refund" and "you'll be able to do so once you receive your reservation ticket" which suggests it's necessary to go through the 2021 ticketing process first and then once you have 2021 tickets, either request additional tickets, arrange for a partial refund, or go for a full refund.
Now... you would have thought including this guidance on the original email would make sense, but hey ho, let's see how the 2021 tickets process goes (and then whatever chaos ensues with refunds).

ACO just confirmed to me that no Arnage camping will be offered and that whilst they couldn’t confirm which would, this would most likely be outside the circuit. They also answered my email in 2 minutes which is some kind of record in my correspondence with them over the years
Interesting - especially when Arnage is outside the circuit.... and, yes, remarkably responsive on email these days.
