Never quite understood the appeal of plates like this, it means very little and makes little or no difference to a car in my view.

But if there are people that bothered they will pay hundreds of not thousands for them why not fleece them I say, if you really think it makes a difference, you are wrong, obviously, but it is your money so whatever! I would rather use the money for something useful personally.

Nought wrong with the odd sticker or three

LM24 or L24 etc are not obvious to most - like some plates with dubious spacing and additional fits and whatever
Bought and applied the Belgian version of this. Got me a stern warning (luckily no fine) from a police officer when he spotted it and pulled me over. I had to remove the stickers, and he let me go.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Each to their own.

No, we're not wrong, except in your opinion which many don't share. I'm sure there are plenty of things that you buy that others would consider a waste of money.

AFAIK, here in the UK there's nothing illegal about the stickers at all.

I also took a but of a punt on HO24 URS. It was quite reasonably priced so I thought well if I could a small profit on it that would pay for my LM24 HRZ plate which I intend to keep. The wife hasn't spoke to me since I got in this evening so I guess she's been on the online banking app....

I'd be interested to know (roughly) how much it cost. When I bought mine from DVLA a few years ago it was at a bargain price.

All the LM24 plates I saw (HRS, GTE, WEC, ACO, LMP and LMH) were £399 plus the £80 fee.

That's very reasonable indeed. More than I paid, but I've had mine for about 4 years now.

Was there an LM24HYP?

I see LM24AMR has gone, appearing on a Valkyrie sometime soon? biggrin

LM24BMW, TVR and LOT(us) all still available. Shame it’ll be many years before I have a car new enough lol.

The £399 price includes VAT and the £80 for 10 years retention fee.

LM24 HYP was available a couple of days ago when first looked.

As was LM24 GTO wink

Well, yes, but there's a lot of racing cars where the only thing connecting the car to the name is the engine. Some don't even go that far.

When Aston Martin raced at Le Mans the following year people were asking why they built their own chassis and body from scratch when they could have just bought a car and fitted their own engine.
