The only time I recall it raining last year was on the Friday afternoon.

Yeah, of course it did. I'm an idiot. I was sitting in the ACO area at La Chapelle in the sunshine while the cars were on a wet track down the Mulsanne.
I was in T17 for most of it, but we got caught in the 'second wave' around 10 pm down just beyond the Ford Chicane.....![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

Having checked the weather trend on various sites, I suspect Le Mans 2024 may not involve shorts (the fabric variety).
My motor racing season so far -BTCC Donington - Wet and freezing
BTCC Snetterton tomorrow - looks chilly
Oh - i just came back from Portugal - it was colder than the UK
Le Mans - doesn't look promising.
I guess that's global warming for you!!

Spa was glorious 2 weeks ago, Cadwell was nice in the sun / cold in the shade last Sunday, Donington looks less promising for this Sunday, it's a downwards curve for me, we're over due a wet Le MansBTCC Donington - Wet and freezing

this one is a bit better (or optimistic) ...

... agree we are a bit overdue a wet one. hopefully wont mean too many slow zones and safety car periods ... race looks to be a real corker and don't need it ruined by 'trop de pluie'

Somebody on Reddit who lives near the circuit says the campsites are still flooded and will need the next couple of weeks to be dry for them to dry out.

I imagine they're talking about Beausejour and perhaps the middle of Houx Annexe? Can't think of anywhere else that gets totally waterlogged.
Beausejour floods if someone leaves a tap running but the others can flood too. Remember 5 to 10 years ago arriving on Bleu Sud to find most of it under water - and thanks to some earlier arrivers who's already done their supermarket run with inflatable pool toys floating around it ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Hmmm I am in Houx Annexe. The guy I am going with delivers drainage pipes for a living. I'd best get him to bring some with us!
Just put a spade in the boot.Amazing how quickly the field drained when someone not in hi-viz so not 'official' cleared the silted up runs between the field and the drainage ditch around it.
