LM24 Tickets 2024 (not buying and selling)
Discussion
Secured three entrance and grandstand la Chapelle and opted for one camping. Do I need 3 for 3 people or is it per pitch? Only have one tent to use. Also can you park by your tent or do I also need a parking ticket for the week. Heavy tent to lug miles from a parking spot. Noob questions I know, haven't been before.

One ticket per pitch. You should be able to park next to your tent.Jim on the hill said:

1 camping ticket = 1 car on 1 pitch with as many people you can get in the car. If you turn up with 2 cars for one pitch, they will only let 1 car on. The only place you can’t park your car next to your pitch is on a ‘Hippodrome 30’ space, which people who stayed there last year reported that their cars were close by. Aysedasi2 said:
Others will no doubt say with more certainty, but there is a lot of free parking on the airfield. So not all that far - a bit of a trudge if it's raining or in the middle of a heatwave. I went in most days this year at around 10 am, including on race morning and there was still loads of capacity at that time (although I was parking elsewhere I drove past the airfield every morning). Don't give up hope on a parking ticket though, there may be some for resale in due course. I bought a full week Expo ticket on resale just over a week before I left for France this year.
Ah brilliant, good to know! Thanks very much A bit sickening that after 20 years we couldn’t get public camping on the first morning of general Sale. One sell out year and the speculators move in trying to sell Beausejour for £250. The lack of this type of activity is one of the attractions of LM over the years. Ended up not buying anything and will look at who has spares closer to the time. Hopefully the camaraderie and mutual benefit of exchanging tickets at face value will not have gone. If it has I will think twice about going again

I was hoping last year was just a one off, but it does seem as busy, if not busier, than last year. Where were all these people in the wilderness years ?!Red9zero said:

Although my old 'team' never camped, we used to just turn up, no entry tickets, no parking tickets and we always got in.... It has changed out of all recognition with the return of manufacturers in Hypercar and slapping a 'Centenary' banner across it.... Last year was pretty darned good though and I suspect a lot of people who experienced it for the first time or were returnees have been hooked. For the next few years at least, being an ACO member is going to be pretty essential if you want to get decent tickets. It was pretty obvious in the build up to the general sale opening that there was going to be previous little left to buy, and from what I gather from agencies like 1st Tickets, they seem to have got even less this year than last year.

Should be some/quite a lot of exchanging at face value once the agent allocations start get getting dished out and some of the camping pitches held on reserve are relinquished.spikep said:
Dunno why anyone would consider buying tickets open market. Now they are E-tickets it's all too easy for somebody to sell the same ticket numerous times, or even knock out fake ones; you're not going to know if you've been stitched up until next June.
