I know it said one, but these all sum up Le Mans for me.

He wasn't one of our party.

Illegal drag racing in the camp site.

The regulars (though not any more)

Needs no description.

There are moments when you wish you had a camera, and you only have them in your mind. Like the time a chap tried to do a handbrake turn in his BX, not realising that the handbrake worked on the front wheels. Straight into the ditch they went.

For years I made a collage with in-jokes etc for my spotters' guides for my friends.... after some changes in the group make up I had to re-do it in 17 but never got it finished and hasn't been back since... this is what Le Mans means to me

You need to be an attendee of some standing to know who this gentleman is.

This isn’t my photo but it is actually a photo of me, my mates and my old 996 C4S! If you google Le Mans camping this comes up in the images, no idea who took it but i think it might be the same crew with their double decker bus? We’ve actually camped next to them a few times now and they are a great bunch with loudest sound system! 2019 they even had a fully working pop up bar.

The picture for me is Le Mans in a single photo; Le Mans, Camping, Friday, nursing a hangover, trying hair of the dog beers while soaking up the sunshine!

That's a different bus and group as we've not been in ours for over 10 years and the bus is long since gone. My mate who owned the bus was well pissed off when the other group turned up in theirs as they drew the attention of a TV crew and got filmed. We'd been doing it for years before them and had had nothing. biggrin

Impossible to to sum up Le Mans in a single photo - too many aspects to it which makes it such a fascinating occasion

AKA the Franz Klamers, as you need to affect a pose like a downhill skier to use one successfully.

The racing side

The party side (when donuts on the Sunday evening leave you stranded)

This made me chuckle, bet everyone felt so sorry for you being left stranded after doing doughnuts, in 2018 when we went, some pleasant chaps decided to do this, next to some older folk. The tent and car was pebble dashed in the process.
