I was done and handed a 750 fine, I thought he said 75Euro's at first and handed it over. Nope 750! They didn't say a great deal, no mention of bad driving just said nice car, very fast yes?

I got a pic taken with the 2 chaps that took my license away. I asked if they had proof and said they had guns if I wanted to argue. :-) I took that to mean I was paying 750 euro's or not getting to keep my car.
I had the same issue - they seemed to take the evidence as a joke.

Just pay up.

We could start a new sport - but an old heap for peanuts.. take it to France, do 90 mph in a 70kmh zone, get done, conferscate car, taxi to airport .. cheap fligh home.

Bye bye crap car hehe

to be fair to the chap who got done,he did ask the officials if he could first, and they put most of the other cars on the ferry then gave him the thumbs up!

but then le rozzers were straight over and nicked him!
This is the black TVR with orange stickers and a stripe? If so, then it broke the boredom! smile

WOW- in all my years of going to Le Mans I finally enter the Club and do it in style!!!

I got pulled in for doing 216kph in my F430, my Bro got done at 211kph and another guy we were cruising with got 214kph in an Aston DBS. We all got screwed for 750 Euro and had our licenses taken. Luckily I had a mate who could drive my Ferrari but my Bro had to ask a complete random to take back his 911 Turbo, so massive thanks to Steve 'The Randon'.

So how come some of you guys are talking about going to court???

The officers did tell me that if I was going 220kph then they had the right to take the car.... thank god the DBS slowed us down!!!!!

Happy days though eh!

I think we averaged about 1.1 leptons between toll stations (trying to make the ferry and failing). Has anybody been ticketed between toll stations, or is it just a myth?

No guys in camo on bridges etc (that we saw), but spotted a few gendermes in laybys quite far off and had suitable time to slow down.

Own up, Scott .... how fast were you going when you had your piccie taken?
There are plenty of signs warning you when the cameras are approaching!
A little bit fast hehe

Am I likely to get a ticket posted here?

Hi everyone do we know any more on having to go to court? Also will this affect my insurance as they are already twitching dont know why? I was re reading through the documents. It seems they have written the wrong number plate down on all the forms! Is this a good thing will it void it?

We were at Chanteloup and at Poole next to you last Thursday. Silver turbo and blue Tuscan.
I understand that the driver of the Noble forgot which side of the road he should have been on.
When you say the girls liked the cars, do you mean the brunette in the mini skirt and wellies?
If so, she "likes" a different persons car every year.

IMO Chantaloup is just fantastic and a great crowd!

The Ferrari and 911 were just stunning, and as for the TVR's - what a noise, camping near the entrance has never been so good!!

I think I saw the Ferrari down at Mulsanne too on the Sat night, what a spectacle that was smile

Looking forward to next yr already

Why are you lot boasting about breaking the law, getting caught and having to face the consequences? Seems a bit silly to me, but then I guess you all got caught which in itself is a bit thick given that EVERYBODY knows the place is crawling with speed traps.

Interesting to see how people think it's acceptable to break the laws of another country knowing full well there's a much higher chance of getting caught than normal. And we wonder why the Brits have a bad rep abroad. rolleyes

The normal procedure is you get your licence back in 4 to 8 weeks and in my case a years ban (only in France) plus an extra 25 euro fine

I joined the 750euro club about 4 years ago - for having a Snooper on my dash, that wasn't switched on and wouldn't function in France even if it were. On top of the fine they confiscated the Snooper and even tried to wrench out the wire that was routed behind the dash to a power point under the bonnet. Cost me about a grand all in all - God, I love Gendarmes......but not as much as my mates who all chipped in to help pay the fine. Thanks boys, I owe you one.

Yeah, we were at Chanteloup, my second year there. I did wonder what happened to that Noble. The owner seemed to have discarded the whole front end in a bush at the site for some reason.

i think youll find the french government are happy to turn a blind eye to the brits for a weekend while we are more than happy to had over our money for a bit of excitment.

i havent read of anyone bhing about the fact they have been caught? we all know the risks, we accept them and carry on as we wish. the french are happy to take our money and we are happy to give it to them.

This is why me and my mate set our Tom Toms to avoid all toll roads. We were bombing it all the way through apart from the pissing rain and villages and didnt see a single copper. It did take us miles out and another hour added to our trip but saved us from hefty fines and the roads were more fun
