Toyota have spent long sections of the race coasting, their only rival is relibility. Winding car 7 back over night to allow 8 to win really undermines the most hollow of victories
Completely agree. How people can call this a 'race' is anyone's guess....?
This year has unfortunately been a farcical joke!
Well done Toyota - well deserved!

Finally, Toyota get that trophy..
Now it'd be good to see Porsche back and we have a proper race.. 2016.. was heartbreaking!
Vindication at last, and hopefully not the last time.
Why is it vindication? They failed previously mainly due to being too slow and/or unreliable, and now they finished first in a class of one. It must be one of the most meaningless ‘victories’ in the history of motorsport. Now it'd be good to see Porsche back and we have a proper race.. 2016.. was heartbreaking!

I was hoping endurance racing would be worth another look as an alternative to the debacle F1 has become, but the daft rules and total absence of competition in the fastest class is a joke.

I don't think you get Endurance racing.
I think a lot of F1 fans are comparing this Le Mans to F1 2005 USA GP in their minds when they think this is a meaningless or hollow victory.
