littlegearl said: heading down for my second year, we're hopefully taking two mgb gt's and a mk 1 cavalier...

but we don't know how many's going yet so we'll decide nearer the time...

confirmed 6 of us are going, but the cars we take may have changed...

definately: 1x 1972 MG B GT
probably: 1x 1974 MG B GT
either: 1978 Vauxhall Cavalier Mk 1 2.0 or a brand new 2003 Mini 'One'

it would be cool to take my cavalier to keep with the 'old car' theme, but i'm a bit worried about its reliability!!!

I'm going on the Wednesday from just south of Newcastle down to Doncaster, then maybe accross to Manchester area to meet up with a few more Marcoses, then down to Dover area to stay the night with my cousin.
Chunnel at around 10 on the thursday morning.

While I can't wait for Le Mans, it can come too soon for me, like before I get the car back on the road!

I stayed at deauville 3 years ago. nice quiet fishing town, shattered by the sound of 20 TVRs. great little place. I have friends that haveboated the channel and stayed there too. Nice to sit at a cafe, drink a good wine and eat fresh shellfish in garlic.

Well, don't have the scooby this yr, just the hocus-pocus... so the dilema is, do we take the focus, make use of the space or... do we take Arthurs 5lt Griff and travel light, without the option for an extra 2 ppl??

I wonder what Arthur would like to take

If the Griff goes are there any seasoned griff owners that could give him a few driving lessons before we go I'd like to stay in one piece..

What car goes... you decide?

Our route will be Portsmouth --> Caen, will have to get some PH livery ready for the trip..

Honfleur and Deauville are both great locations to visit on Sunday night - loads of classics and moderns floating around. Honfleur is probably prettier, but the bars tend to shut at 1am, whereas Deauville has a casino and a couple of nightclubs and there is a vague chance of chatting to the local girls - who seem quite friendly....

Recomend you book a hotel in advance though, as they can get booked up quite quickly.

Travelling down to Bleu, via Portsmouth & Caen, arriving Wednesday in time for first qualifying. The White Wedge will be having it's last big outing with me....it's going on the market

Although judging by the market, :nobodywantsone: I won't be able to sell it straight away
