Why are you lot boasting about breaking the law, getting caught and having to face the consequences? Seems a bit silly to me, but then I guess you all got caught which in itself is a bit thick given that EVERYBODY knows the place is crawling with speed traps.
Interesting to see how people think it's acceptable to break the laws of another country knowing full well there's a much higher chance of getting caught than normal. And we wonder why the Brits have a bad rep abroad.![rolleyes](/inc/images/rolleyes.gif)
cheer up fella we are not all in the same brainwashed "speed kills" boat. Speeding, who cares, if you can afford it then whats the damage?Interesting to see how people think it's acceptable to break the laws of another country knowing full well there's a much higher chance of getting caught than normal. I'm not really a member of this club (only 180 euro this year), but I took it as a reasonably cheap track day.
Pay your €90 (on the dual carriageway after Alencon) and drive around France for an hour as fast as you like.
Personally I thought this was such a bargain that I stopped outside Bernay and bought myself another hour's worth. As it happens, this second time was exactly the same place as I got stopped last year - I'm nothing if not predictable.
One suggestion I might make is for the condarmes to make a full weekend ticket, I dunno, say €1000 for Wednesday to Monday maybe?

Hmmmm i thought that you didnt have to attend the court hearing. I am ringing the RAC legal team later as they are supposed to be very helpful in adviseing you. By the sounds of it they got a lot of us and we will all be in court in sept. Thank god they didnt take the car from me though that sucks.
Did you get a response from the RAC legal team about whether we have to physically attend court in September? My first time to Le Mans, and I am a member of the 750 club! Although as I stopped in the lay-bay to pay my fine I was in FINE..comany of a Black 599 and a Yellow Corvette.
I think I was lucky to keep the car!! (Boxter S). I got caught at 227km.ph and thought that the car was gone?
However, I have taken it on the chin, and the 750 club will slow me down!!!

I hit the occasional 193 kph on way back to calais ferry, luckly no 'club membership ' results whatsoever !
'phew' for my wallet...

I only saw two Clouseau's the whole trip there and back.
As I was bang on 80 mph no problem, my son and I had a great time and a safe trip.
+1As I was bang on 80 mph no problem, my son and I had a great time and a safe trip.
The possible difference was the OH in the passenger seat and a curious wail being emitted at 81mph

Back in the day when I had my Westfield, there was an interesting point where the noise from the 'rev limiter' built up in a sort of crescendo but then it, sorry she, suddenly went quiet

When i am on the Autoroutes I set my speed to the satnav displayed speed which according to my speedo is 90mph. Not a bad average speed for 100's of miles. And any muppet can thrash a car on the motorway. (Still quite proud of my 800 miles in 8 hrs coming back from Spain a few years ago in a TT..
