I had a look last night at my membership. I had an option to add the reception area to the membership for a guest. So that may be a route other than the sales site.

There’s probably an option to ‘upgrade’ membership online, so again may be other route other than sales site.

Though I would add, I personally don’t think these areas would make or break a weekend. I could survive without.

I guess it depends on how you do Le Mans. We have seats as usual in T17 which makes the Durand club access an essential really, plus it gives easy access to good regularly cleaned loos as well as access to cold drinks and food at better prices. As we're there for the whole week, we use it a lot and we'll probably spend a bit of time here and there down at La Chapelle as well. It's a once a year thing and €52 extra is far from make or break for me (us). We have two members with passes and two guests with passes as well. It's a bit of a no brainer for us.
We would normally be in T17 or 18. Messed up payment process unfortunately and got booted out. Only paid extra so the rest have some better toilet access after a short walk from Sommer.

You’d have the facilities in 17 and 18 anyway with the stand tickets. I love these stands just for the convenience. The food and drink set up is actually quite annoying I find, especially as they decided to put a bar at the top of the stairs instead of leaving the area clear or at least make a queue area away from the stairs.

The convenience of the toilets is what I use 17/18 for, especially for the rest of the group.

I personally wouldn’t bother paying extra to just use the Chapelle area.

I may rethink the two membership option for next year but the booking hassle is still there. What I’d really like is the option to double your membership under the one log in. ‘Member +’ or something. So you can log in and book up to four seats together at the same time.

"Another silly question, we can take our own booze in yeah?" . . . . but they can sometimes be funny about glass bottles . . . so I always take cans.
In terms of general entry points, the rule is no glass but I have seen security interpret it as simply no alcohol, which isn’t correct.

We like to take our own picnic in on Saturday with some red wine. Been quite fun getting the bottle through (within one of those blankets that fold up.. all interest in the bag whilst holding the blanket).

Have switched to taking in a decent box-o-wine. Box opened within bag and food on top of it. Worked alright so far. But the security checks haven’t exactly been rigorous.

Oh, who knew this all sold out so quickly..... Although I haven't been for two decades...

Any tips for someone trying to book now? There's some campsite 'only' 6 miles from the circuit, Le Pont Romain, but not really what I'm after.

Does anyone know or can recommend any public campsites nearer the circuit?....

No need for the 'not sure if serious' responses. We've been talking about it for a bit but only just got round to actually looking to book....
You could try the municipal campsite in La Suze Sur Sarthe (20 min easy drive - aim for expo parking)

La Flèche campsite is also good. (30 min drive but easy route - aim for expo parking)

There is also private site that runs under the name Clubmotorsport in Guecelard (15-20 min drive, again expo is best place)

Super, thanks for these, there's loads of availability here. We wanted to be by the circuit and it seems general admission tickets are now sold out, so bought a package as above with the tickets too. Thanks for taking the trouble for such a detailed reply however. beer
Did you go for Clubmotorsport? (Guessing with tickets also, you have)
