Has anyone heard of bike hire at this year's 24H Le Mans? I'm in a 911 and no way I can fit a couple of bikes in my car with tent, sleeping bags etc. but being located at Porsche Curves a bike would really come in handy for the week.

Going this year on me todd as no one come with me and then it too late for them as no tickets left, had thought of taking a wee scooter with me a la francis bourgois, might be an option, then leave it there

There are a bunch who jog the circuit every year if that helps. only 8.5 miles. But do understand that this year being the 100th anniversary the track will be closed a lot more than usual, certainly from at least midday Wednesday and possibly more. Bike rental may be difficult in France for a foreigner too. The only bike shops around are Decathlon south of Tertre Rouge and Mondo Velo near McDonalds further down the Mulsanne. But I don't think either do short term rentals, Decathlon specifying a minimum of three months. Argos is probably your only option

Has anybody done the circuit in rollerblades? I was thinking about doing that when the circuit is open to the public on Friday. If it can be jogged, should be possible in rollers.

I'm not sure quite when the circuit will be open this year. Actual details are sparse but the official calendar shows "Le Mans 6 - 11 June". No one here seems to know really at the moment. There are so many parades and village shows and everyone seems to want to be in the act.

Hi I assume that you are not staying at the Village on the Curves (Porsche Curves) as they have arranged bike hire on the site. You can hire at the entrance to Beusejour i understand without pre-booking but I am assuming these will sell out quickly.

We hired electric bikes last year from a cycle ship about a 10 minute walk from the front entrance of the circuit. I can't remember how much but it wasn't much or we wouldn't have done it. Walk past Jeannine's bar keep going for 5 minutes, then turn left through the houses and out onto the main road and the cycle shop is there
