Not like the Ring24 last week I just rollled up on the Saturday afternoon and bagged a camping pitch for 17 euros and a weekend ticket for 62 euros. cant complain at that.

With the cost of Le Mans and the fun police out in force so much, I am surprised the N24 hasn't had a surge in numbers at the expense of LM. The Dutch party crew remind me a lot of what LM used to be! (or Houx at least!)Shnozz said:

Do you know how hard it is these days to get someone to spray you/the inside of your car with piss from a super-soaker, or how much encorragement you need to give someone to get them to climb on your bonnet so they can scratch the paint with their dirty shoes? In the good old days you just needed to drive down the road past Maison Blanche or Houx and people would do it without even needing to be asked!I accept things could get out of hand on occasion, as it can at any festival style event. However, in dealing with the OTT tomfoolery its also now wrung every last bit of some of the more jovial lad behavior that used to be a bit of fun. Fair enough for those who went solidly for the race but I certainly enjoyed some of the more hedonistic aspects of the stay. The HA roundabout was a great Friday evening to my mind, as were the enforced wheelspins, faux policeman stops, fancy dress and the "judging table" of the top gear presenters in front of the Chinese on the Mulsanne straight. Similarly, the fireworks on the Sunday night and the year on year washing powder in the Arnage fountain.
Yes, supersoakers of piss, damage occurring to cars (caused howsoever) is unacceptable but on the few occasions where I saw things get out of hand they seemed self-regulating to a large extent by justice administered by a disapproving audience (such as the tt who did doughnuts in the campsite spraying cars with stones and was promptly hauled from the car and made to pay for the damage caused).

Well, just back from our first visit for 11 years. We stayed with Travel Destinations at Porsche Curves and that made the weekend. Was brilliant. Having a BBQ on the spectator banking on Saturday night was a particular highlight. Their set up and staffing gets a full 10/10. I would thoroughly recommend.
No problems driving in on Thursday or driving out yesterday an hour after the finish. Eurotunnel a breeze, as was the drive down (UK was different as M25 was predictable.. plus M3 and M20 closed on the way down).
Many more big screens were good and spectators areas didn't seem too rammed. We didn't queue for anything. Didn't drink beer within the circuit as ridiculous prices.
Racing was excellent, which topped it off nicely. Everyone else in the group very happy as well. A success!
