Johny Herbert is rumoured to be joining Bentley, this is has to be great news for the Bentley team. I remember (very vaguely) Johny winning the Le Mans back in 1991, and I can only see this (if it happens) as being an excellent prospect for winning Le Mans. With the Speed 8 in near top form, and an excellent driver like Herbert, a win could realistically be on the cards.

I also read that Eddie Irvine turned down Bentley so that he could remain in F1, that’s okay with me, I never really rated the guy anyway…

Obviously, I am also backing MG. Hopefully they can also pull something out of the bag in June.

Questions for anyone out there….

Are any other F1 drivers on the cards to join Team Bentley?

Does anyone know of any sites that detail the Bentley Speed 8’s engine specs? ( no sarcasm about Audi comparisons please!)

Not having been into Le Mans for very long, I only know Irvine as an F1 driver, and I have never been impressed with him in that field.

According to Bentley, Johny Herbert Isn't a definite( although he may well be now). As you mentioned, he has certainly been on the cards for a while, but there was some "Discussions" between Herbert and Team Bentley before anything was finalised.

That piece of information came from Crash Net news.

Do one of you guys know where I can find Eddie Irvines old Le Mans performance records?

Did you rate Irvine in F1?
