What's your current wait time for new car?
Discussion
I ordered an Audi E-tron last August and it was delivered in early March.
A colleague ordered the same car in January and will get it in early July.
Same colleague cancelled his Taycan, having ordered it last summer, when he was told it wouldn’t be coming until “2024”
Lead time was what put me off the Taycan.
Another colleague ordered a BMW iX1 in February and had it delivered last week.

I was at BMW MOTORBIKE dealer the other day and asked how long from order to delivery expecting the answer to be 6 months plus…they said that often the spec would already exist within the group so Immediate delivery to maybe 6-8 weeks if it had to be built…quite a contrast!
I bought a new GS last July when it was much the same. Since then they have tweaked the spec and deleted some stuff that is packed with electronic trickery, like the adaptive LED lights, although I understand there is a promise to retro fit them at some future point. ev_buyer said:
Just curious to know how long people are waiting for new cars?
I'm currently 19 months down since ordering my Taycan 4s with still no clear delivery date.
There are 28 brand new Taycans on the Porsche website available for immediate delivery – plus lots more pre-registered with nominal mileage.I'm currently 19 months down since ordering my Taycan 4s with still no clear delivery date.

Are manufactures still struggling for parts? I would have assumed that alternative suppliers would be being used by now.
Yes - I don't think there are many alternative suppliers for the basic chips they use.I have waited 20 months for the VW to be built, to a large extent the delay was caused because I specified matrix headlights (which were then discontinued after my order was placed). On the other hand my LR Defender arrived with matrix lights that had not been optioned as the standard LED lights were unobtainable. Bonkers!
