The TOWIE guy really annoys me - He reminds me of Scott Tracy from thunderbirds. Except his strings are connected to his cheeks and stupid fake teeth.
Rylan was never in TOWIE as far as I'm aware, he was from the X Factor.

To be fair, he has a face that works far better on radio.

He did a Radio 2 show on a Saturday, and her actually came across as a really nice guy, who also had a pretty quick sense of humour.

I couldn't put my finger on who it was, then when it clicked it was a bit of a shock. I guess I was judging him on his looks, seems bizarre to want to look all plastic. But hey ho.

Apols for the thread resurrection but I just came on here to see what the general consensus was from previous Cinch customers, and this thread popped up in the PH search results.

I spotted a nice, well priced and mega-spec 3-series estate on Cinch today. The price and PX are very competitive, but unlike, say Cazoo or Carsa, they only list the last service date and not a full breakdown of history.

The last service was done by themselves a few weeks ago, but the car (335i) has done 400 miles since whilst being in stock.

On querying the rest of the history, it turns out that it only has 3 services (31k miles @ 4 years > 54k miles @ 6 years, 64k miles @ 7 years).

I guess the moral of the story is don't assume they're stocking cars with FSH!

Probably thinking that many wouldn’t know what a FSH was in the first place.
A recent service is good enough for them.
Kerching, enjoy!

And frankly, on modern cars, it probably doesn’t matter as much as old gits like me think.

Where would they be looking for that info - does it show in the car's screen?

Could be it's been done and not recorded for various reasons - be odd for someone to skip all servicing while in warranty. Perhaps a lease car that's been serviced at Halfords or something like that.

Apparently the service information was taken directly from the iDrive, but that's just what the telesales guy is saying via Live Chat - so i'm not 100% convinced. Like you, I do think it's incredibly unlikely to have gone through the warranty period without even an oil change. From experience you're probably looking at £250 for the first service, to ignore which on a car which is literally loaded to the gunnels with options just feels like a strange ownership strategy.

The price is very attractive for the spec (Pro Nav, M Sport Plus pack, black panel, pan roof, HK stereo, powered boot, elecy seats and a lot more), so i'm inclined to take a punt on it and do my own research via the VIN (which they're not prepared to give me prior to purchase), the Reg number and a call to BMW customer services.

With the info that I have right now, it does look like it went a big gap between a couple of services but it was in a short space of time, so it might have been on a variable service plan. Plus is has 4 x nearly new Potenzas on it, so it's clearly been looked after by the last owner.

Ultimately, I'd have 14 days/250 miles to reject it under their T&Cs, but I would be taking a small bath on my PX which hardly makes the returns policy a no-brainer.

Thanks for your input.

The 400 miles since service is intriguing, perhaps already been bought and returned once?

Possibly, although you have to do so with 250 miles and the service date was 22 Jan, so it would have been returned very quickly.

Anyway...I took a punt on it and now have the VIN. The build sheet says it was on extended 2yr / 30k km servicing which sort of explains some of the intervals. If I can establish that there was one done in the first 31k miles then I'll be happy.

I'll update on here once I have the car on Weds. It's a 2015 F31 335i with pretty much every option except ACC. It's replacing a L322 4.4 FFRR which I shall miss for a lot of reasons but is becoming unsustainable now I'm driving into the congestion charge zone with my work.

So, here's the postscript to the above.

The 335i touring was delivered by Cinch today, absolutely gleaming and in terrific condition. Good tyres all around, no swirl marks on the black paint, alloys all refurbed, pretty new Potenzas, £30 worth of petrol put in and a really good guy dropped it off.

I checked the iDrive to see if there were indeed any additional services and, yep - two BMW main dealer entries at 14k and 24k. So in effect, it's had 5 services in 64k miles despite being on an extended miles service plan.

All good then? Well, not quite.

There's no information in the iDrive or any documentation in the folder of the other 3 services they originally told me about prior to sale. So as it stands, I have only partial (documented) service history.

I'm currently waiting online to chat to someone, with screenshots of what I was told prior to sale. But to be fair, the whole process has been exemplary thus far and it'll be interesting to see how they resolve this glitch. I just hope the extra paperwork hasn't been destroyed for GDPR etc.

For info, the delivery guy said they very rarely re-sell a car from WBAC despite it being part of the same group. They cherry pick the best from their lease and motability disposal contracts. I have a feeling mine might indeed be the former, but clearly it's no banger.

EDITED TO ADD

Service history is being emailed through in writing, plus £10 compensation for a missing coffee cup in the Welcome Gift.

Overall, colour me impressed. ste adverts, dodgy parent company, but a terrific experience.
