Looks good to me.
All the 10k deals appear to be business only however, and no details on the excess mileage charge. Might be worth a phone call in the morning.

Looking for a gold R deal with DSG.... This look any good / has anyone found better that is still available? I feel late to the cheap golf party.
33 x £252.18 inc VAT

It's actually £349/month over 24 months when the deposit is amortised or £8,366 for 24 months and 10k miles, ie 83p/miles. Sounds like a lot to me. But the headline is great 33 x £252.18 inc VAT

My new least Fiesta ST3 finally arrived today. Considering I went for a lease for less hassle, it hasn't proved to meet that criteria very well so far. 1st delivery was cancelled on Monday half way through the day due to a "broken gearbox" and the rescheduled delivery was today but I have found 6 bits of damage on the paintwork at the point of delivery. Fortunately I spotted them on the 3rd pass round the car before signing it off.
Anyone got any comments or experiences regarding the above? Did it get sorted out OK?Trif said:

how does a gearbox break on a car before it's even delivered?! Surely that sort of thing would have come up in pre-shipping QA?
I presumed he meant the 'box on the delivery truck. I've got
upto £180 p/m
personal deal
ideally 36 months
can put down upto £1500
Has anybody seen any good deals?
Just need a reliable daily. Not a 80bhp Fiesta
Currently looking at the zetec s 1.0 ecoboost which has 125bhp but I think that still may be underpowered and it only has 5 gears. looks good though.

No idea. But it was fixed the same day, so I can only assume the linkage would need adjusting? Certainly feels fine to me. 4737 Carlin said:
So what happened, did you refuse the car? Was this at your house or at the dealers? How have you left it with them?
I took delivery of the car, but noted the damage with the delivery driver and emailed pictures to Gateway2Lease. It's on my driveway. ChipsAway have been instructed to quote for a repair... I've asked G2L if it can be repaired (not at my cost) on return.

A question if I may? This is something that never occurred to me before. I am in a position where I am about to change jobs, going fully 'freelance' (self employed) is an option. Has anyone had any problems sorting a lease deal if operating as freelance or a sole trader? The business lease deals seem geared towards limited companies (I won't have the turnover or want the hassle, nor am I 'powerfully built' enough ) and a couple of personal leases I have enquired on asked for confirmation of a 'car user allowance payment' or 'expenses-paid mileage' being recoverable before they would quote, effectively suggesting an employee / employer scenario.
Is it just a case that I will state my 'business' will be charged business related mileage (personal contract lease) as an expense, although the only evidence I will of this is my scruffy Excel spreadsheet accounts / tax return? I know the obvious answer is get an accountant on board to advise, but I may need reliable transportation pdq if I go for it and this is one of the considerations.

I got a Sirocco R direct with the dealer (benfield VW) for a little more than your budget. 2k down £170 per month that was with the option of white. Not sure if they are doing it again they did run out but said offers may be available end of this year early next. upto £180 p/m

God knows who you asked for quotes that asked you that? I've been getting lease quotes for years and never been asked that once. I run a small LTD co too, but that has nothing to do with any lease co.Is it just a case that I will state my 'business' will be charged business related mileage (personal contract lease) as an expense, although the only evidence I will of this is my scruffy Excel spreadsheet accounts / tax return? An important definition to avoid is "self employed". I if you set up a LTD co you are an employee of that firm. Never "self employed".
Personal lease = your private arrangement, nothing to do with work / job / own business etc. getting the lease is based on your personal credit rating only.
Business lease = leased by a company, nothing to do with YOU.
Any issues of car allowances / claimed mileage etc is bugger all to do with any lease company and you should tell them that.

You may struggle to get a lease at all if you have only just gone Self Employed. Is it just a case that I will state my 'business' will be charged business related mileage (personal contract lease) as an expense, although the only evidence I will of this is my scruffy Excel spreadsheet accounts / tax return? When I took out my business lease they wanted a years accounts from my accountant. This was direct from BMW, I haven't a cue why they would ask about the expenses mileage thing, it's absolutely nothing to do with them. When I was self employed (I've incorporated the business now) I just used the 49p per mile to claim back against my tax return.

I am self emplyed via my own ltd company and i am the director (powerfully built so i am) anyway, as a Ltd company there is no benefit to leasing a car through the business due to the company car tax, tax on private fuel contribution and a number of other reasons including the fact that you cant claim the higher rate for mileage if it is a comapny vehical. Is it just a case that I will state my 'business' will be charged business related mileage (personal contract lease) as an expense, although the only evidence I will of this is my scruffy Excel spreadsheet accounts / tax return? As a private lease i can claim the 45ppm and easilly cover in excess of 15k business miles PA equating to c.£6k in non taxable expenses, which means i benefit from something in the region of £1200 off my corp tax bill at the very least. Running it through the company would cost me money. the only exception to this is running a ZEV but that is alot of messing about, yes a Tesla would make sense financially but i dont want to be spending a grand a month on a car and there are no other ZEVs which i would consider. consider you could get a new car on lease inclusive of VAT for a little more than £100 a month and in reality if you cover 15k miles effectivley the car is free from mileage allowance claims alone. My man maths has me deduct the £1.2k off the total i will pay in a year for the lease...obviously
In your position OP as a sole trader there is no benefit whatsoever to running a lease vehicle though your business, unless it is a commercial vehical but thats a different kettle of fish all together. I know friends (who are LTD) who have taken advantage of business only leases by simply paying for the lease via thier company bank account, but in reality the prices they pay could have been achieved on a private lease through a bit of haggling. As a sole trader you can claim the standard mileage allowace via HMRC, but in all self employment scenarios, getting an accountant is essential in my opinion.
As it goes i am an accountant by trade, i dont consider myself an expert on the subject (not my field) but i would say i have picked quite a bit up over the years. The only financially benefical car worth running through your business (LTD) is a classic older than 15 years. In this scenario, all running costs are tax deductable, and the company car tax is based on the original purchase price, there are cap gains tax issues in the long term, but they are negligable if you do it right and have a good accountant.
