Agreed, not on Paper, but certainly in principle, and most certainly when it comes to any sort of non business credit related endeavours....which i have tried to argue in the past. Mortgage companies are starting to see the light though, and car wise i have never had an issue.

you can search through the thread it's been discussed before. If you've just set up your own Ltd company then you won't have trading history or accounts, so the won't give your company a business lease. Even if they do, you'll need to be VAT registered to reclaim the VAT, and you'll need to pay BIK on the company car (as it would be) out of your salary. Now if you're one of the sneaky peeps paying themselves minimal salary out of the company then this _might_ work in your favour, but it's likely to just be a ton of hassle, potentially dodgy ground etc. You're best off speaking to your accountant, and... no offence... this is just the deals thread smile

<snip> God knows who you asked for quotes that asked you that? I've been getting lease quotes for years and never been asked that once <snip>
<snip> Any issues of car allowances / claimed mileage etc is bugger all to do with any lease company and you should tell them that.<snip>
OK fair enough. I do remember enquiring on a 3-series a couple of years ago and there being a comment in the quote email about having to confirm receipt of car allowance or mileage expenses. Whether you had to actually prove this before proceeding I do not know. I assume a personal credit check is more the 'standard procedure' these days.

<snip> In your position OP as a sole trader there is no benefit whatsoever to running a lease vehicle though your business... , as a sole trader you can claim the standard mileage allowace via HMRC, but in all self employment scenarios, getting an accountant is essential in my opinion.
Yep, I had sort of concluded that Private Lease / claim mileage was the way to go, the concern about 'qualifying' seems to be a 'non issue'. And agreed about the accountant- Mrs f worked for one before a (very) extended maternity leave. So we can just about struggle through the Self-Assessments, but the up-to-date accountancy procedure advice is very rusty to say the least smile .

Thanks for the help chaps.

Yes, sorry about that, my fault paperbag

(Still think a 'leasing advice' tandem thread would be a good idea)

think they've always been around that price. Don't know a lot about the car, but not sure I fancy the idea of a budget-end maserati!! I'd at least want maintenance etc smile

So, since I received my quote to extend my M135i lease for another year (crazy £466 per month!), I've now got to sort something out for March 2016.

I need 5 doors, some decent poke, petrol, at least 5k miles per year and a decent enough boot.

So far, only this Leon Cupra 290 seems decent at £2,400+23 at £185 per month inc VAT on 5k miles: http://www.centralukvehicleleasing.co.uk/vehicle/c...

Any other suggestions?

In my experience they nearly always take the utter piss. Same with buying at the end.

Been keeping an out eye myself and other than a decent Audi S3 deal that g2l had for a very short time nothing else seems to tick the right boxes.

The Cupra doesn't seem a great deal with initial £2.4k down, that's nearly £7k over the term with the admin fee.

Whats the boot like in those? Doesn't look great from a quick google.

My 6GC has just hit 3 years old. Contemplating where to go next.

Wife wants a 4x4 as we had our first child this year and will probably try for a second within the 3 years of owning the next car. She's probably right in that lugging two kids worth of crap in and out of a 4x4 would be better. But I'm thinking about pushing my luck with another Gran Coupe type compromise, having always preferred coupes, it may not really be a coupe but it still looks good with a bit of practicality. Also had a 3 series courtesy car recently and am struggling to drop back down to that level of interior :/

Any other recommendations around the £500/month ball park. 5k miles/year is plenty for me.

well i guess they don't really want you to do it. The financials of the lease deal from new factors in the profit they can make from a) billing you over the odds for damage and/or excessive wear and tear, and b) profit from selling it on. If you want to keep it a bit longer not only does this knock their figures out, but also they know you're probably a bit stuck, so they just quote silly money.

Anyone ordered through "uk car line" before?

I'm quite close to ordering a 335d x drive touring for May 16 delivery.

Online reviews from feefo look good but wondered if anyone had any direct experience?

Also does anyone have an views on how 335d lease costs will go in q1 or q2 '16? Up? Or down?

Sorry, OT again....

If you don't have your LTD co. address at your home address, then no one will ever know. You work for company X based at Y and you live at Z.

I moved from working for huge firms like Siemens to my own LTD co and nothing has ever changed re loans / mortgage / cars etc. Don't shoot yourself in the foot if you don't have to.

Contract term : 24 months

Annual mileage : 8000

Looks good to me.
This is extremely interesting....

All the 10k deals appear to be business only however, and no details on the excess mileage charge. Might be worth a phone call in the morning.
Whoops, I appear to have signed up for a car that I have never seen and the press haven't tested.

I was interested in that model but couldn't find any reviews explaining how the electric drive integrated.
It also wasn't on the London congestion charge exemption list.

It does look really interesting though.

Been offered a good deal on a Volvo V40, D2 manual, R-Design and choice of colours: silver, white, black and blue. 3x£195 up front, £180 documents and 23x£195, 8000m, no maintenance. Nationwide Vehicle Contracts. Available with Satnav for £205. Total cost for two years is £5250/£219 month inc deposit for manual non-Nav.

Dull but nice inside, super-frugal, zero road tax and relatively nice to look at IMHO. It may just tempt me away from a Golf GTD.....which is coming in around £8000/£320 all in.

Edit: personal lease inc vat.

Was that with 1st choice? When will it be delivered? I don't think they launch until March.

Not that the road tax matters to you because you wouldn't be paying it.
