I think it depends what car it is in. I personally wouldn't waste my money speccing it in a F56 Mini again, however it does sound good in my M4 though(especially when you set up the graphic equaliser correctly). I also thought that it sounded ace in my brother in laws old 2017 530i as well.

I think BMWs standard stereos sound absolutely crap in comparison, and both the standard stereos in my E90 330i/330d were terrible to my ears for example.
I also.have an M4 (F82). Not overly impressed with it.

I didn't think it was all that great at first either, but I did some digging online for the optimum settings for the graphic equaliser and it made a real difference to be fair.

Can someone please link me to examples that they think are good, ideally approved used

That does look clean for sure, but as you say I'd also be going in the direction of either the M2 or M4 over the M240i as well I think.

Its not a million miles away from what you can get even a 2018 M2 (albeit with average miles, not very low miles). It is leagues ahead of an M240i.

M4 running costs are noticeably higher than a 240i to day the least. Insurance for a start is significantly more.

I.went from a 240i to.an M4 and the insurance difference was £1000 and I'm not young anymore at 42.
A number of people in the M4 owners groups are selling up due to insurance costa.

Consumables on a full fat M car are also noticeably higher, brake discs, pads, etc.

For me the M4 is well worth it over a 240i but you certainly have to stomach the increased running costs.

Being honest I'm dreading the insurance renewal next year on the M4 as well(it went up from £590 to £700 for me this year and I'm 50 now so not exactly young either). The fourth year big service(including spark plugs) stings a bit on the M4 at around a £1k at the main dealer too I reckon.

You're talking me into going for a 240i now to be fair instead! hehe

I'm a year into ownership of the New G42 M240IXDRIVE now and covered 19,000 miles. Having owned a F22 M240I for similar miles and still own a F87 M2 i do think the G42 is the all round better daily car even topping the New G87 M2 which i have in a Manual, i personally think the M240IXDRIVE is a superb value for money usable ///M car and as a few more start hitting the second hand market I'm sure will prove very popular....driving

At 28 I get shafted on insurance either way so the difference running an M vs M-lite is probably £10-20 a month for me.

Certainly nothing in the grand scheme of things for my age group.

I was really impressed by the M240i especially compared to the previous gen but didn’t find it very M car.

The M240i in purple is easily the best looking 2 series on sale now. Stunning car puts the new M2 to shame!

We went the G21 330e instead slightly slower but better in every way as a daily. Big thing that swung us was the fuel costs where virtually a 1/3rd so it was an extra £150 back in our pockets a month. Have to say if you can afford it EVs are the best daily.

Though serious money at the moment for an Xdrive M240i at £40k plus they definitely aren’t value for money till that is cut in half!

Seems dodgy with only one picture which is a partial image of a wheel.
That being said might be the right price given the mileage

I wished my same black diamond cut wheel on the M4 looked as nice as that one does for sure! Mine are corroded to high heaven in comparison, and I need to get my ass into gear and decide what to do with them.

Although I've been deciding what to do with them for nearly 2 years in January in fairness(and they've been corroded since back then)! hehe

They did look nice for about the first 8 months of me having it though.

The advert has changed. It was £21k this afternoon when I looked and there was half a dozen good pictures.

Same owner 5 years, full BM main dealer history, matching Michelins all round, electric memory seats, pro nav, adaptive suspension and icon headlights. Melbourne red also stands out from the usual black sapphire, mineral grey and estoril blue. Nice car. Has to be worth a viewing.
