This seems very optimistically Friday Barge priced for a mere Jaguar XE. Left hooker too, and not only that but the back seats look to be ruined. What on earth could the seller be thinking?

What did you think of your IS250? I'm pretty certain it's gonna be my next car. I'm not picky but I just want a decent SE/SE-L auto with parking sensors and the nav screen and that's about it. Local is ones don't seem to hang around for long, I've noticed
They are brilliant. Had it six years and circa 70 k miles and NOTHING went wrong despite dogs abuse, I rarely drove the thing save to take it for oil changes and I found it to be a nice steer. Get one with the Harmon Kardon radio (think SE) and with some stamps in the book and I really don't think you can go wrong.
Appreciate that! I know they're known for being one of he most reliable cars you can get. Not expecting it to set the world on fire with the drive but reliable, comfy, auto, lots of tech (for the age), RWD, V6 engine. Same to tax as my current Civic Type R.

Well as a car i posted (without checking over at all or even reading the advert) has been torn to shreds i suppose i’ll have to leave thread now…
As far as I know there's no rule for this thread which says "only good genuine cars can be included and anyone who posts a leper has to leave the thread" - it's part of the fun getting the chance to see cars which may not be the real deal being advertised. Post more of them.

cos it's Friday, think this project would suit an "enthusiast"

I can see why somebody would hang on to that car with the specification. Manual box, interesting velour interior, 3.5l sledgehammer under the bonnet.... HOWEVER, the problem with BMWs of this era is that they compound rust. i.e. rust upon rust. When you start looking at how they made the sills you find several sheets covering each other and rust between each sheet. So you have to peel it like an onion and when you've finished what should be solid chassis members will have to be fixed before you can build it back up. There are people out there who have the patience for this kind of thing but I don't think I could do it.

Oh goodness yes, we all post barges which get criticized, as will I for allowing a "z" to creep into that word thanks to whatever dictionary this phone is running.

It's part of the fun, especially when someone really goes off on one about how bad what you've posted is.

It usually means a maybe, after all smile

I was once criticised for pointing out that a driver side seat belt butler seemed to be stuck unretracted on a W126. Traumatic!

Absolutely love that sort of thing, course it has no space in my life. A great job, particularly when the finish is as good as the job as the well executed mad mechanicals. It’s good that we’re still allowed to make and register that kind of oddity. Makes me think of one of the Edd China vids where he went to Sweden and the guy who wanted to stick a later lump on his Golf had to jump through hoops or be told it wasn’t legal.
Also reminds me of the thread on PH of the Espace w the Lexus V8 engine by the guy who built race cars for a living.

Me too. Luckily a tad too expensive for a spontaneous random purchase.

that C63 did not sell. went up to 12k with an estimate at 14-16k. Not sure I get the vendor's decision on this ie a car like that in an auction with the 15% thing and the obvious pitfalls with auction-it's probably a car someone will retail at 17-18 so I'm not sure how even at 14 + commission that this works out?

I am going to keep an eye out for it. If anyone see's it ANYWHERE please let me know.

As you say, with the 15% auction thing you're never going to get a good price....
