Looks a bit toppy to say the least. And there's a whisper at the back of my head suggesting best to avoid the 2.5 in favour of either the 2 or 3 litre engines (along with never, ever, buy a diesel boxer) - can't remember if that's because of problems, or because of getting the power of smaller engine with the mpg of the larger.

I’d say that there’s probably a bargeiste standing behind you.

Never that popular and seems about double the price it should be, however tidy big bus with the V6 engine if it floats your boat I guess:

We had one and it was fine - never fast, but brisk enough and very smooth. Managed 38mpg.

At least it's not one of them stupid metal things with a French or German font for no reason! I don't even know why I started with them - all my plates and my parents' have a set printed (and in use) at least they've more chance of being legible when dirty biggrin

It's like the M colours on a BMW grille... that seemed to go down like a cup of cold sick - and they weren't related to the post being made biglaugh

Depends how far the terminal rot has progressed.

If someone had the forethought to treat it once or twice in its early life it might be worth it but as that almost certainly didn't happen I'd say its a couple of grand over.

I've had 4 Omegas in the past lovely comfortable cruisers, I have a 2003 XJ6 now different as chalk and cheese, Omega is very old fashioned compared to the Jag, no mention of the cambelt and tensioners being done on that one, it does look very smart.

I've had a few Omegas over the years and they were good sheds but they were always massively overrated in old shed circles, and would feel very very old now I think. I knew a chap who leased one for next to nothing in 2004 and even with the light facelifted interior it felt like a product of another age.

I also think sheddists thought they were amazing because their baseline was £200 Montegos and the like, so yes they did feel very luxurious and well equipped in comparison.

That X350 would feel like a space ship in comparison.

Love that V6 x350 and have admired then for a while and had a rover 75 V6 in a similar shade even down to the wooden wheel. Would binning the leaper leave a hole in the bonnet though?

Yes it would, when I bought mine I binned the leaper and replaced it with an XJS Bonnet badge, it might stick out a bit much on lighter colours though.

I think if I were ever to remove a leaper, I'd be epoxy resin glueing a £1 coin over the hole.

There's a business opportunity here for someone methinks. Figure out an elegant way of de-geralding the bonnets of old Jags.

Yes, a lot of text, but not much information. I was about to post that it comes with a chain, but it was 2.2 that used to have a stretching chain.

I liked mine too, same engine but not quite the spec of this one. As said they now feel very old fashioned but I think that's part of the charm - burbly lazy V6 and, I thought, quite nicely balanced chassis although the auto box lets them down. But I sold mine for £1500 last year at maybe the peak of the market, and I'd doubled my money at that. So I can't see how this can be more than double again.

What was that 2 door coupe they did that also had the issue with the chain?
