I had Vredestein Quatracs on a Peugeot 208 and they were absolutely superb in all sorts of stty conditions, and have worn brilliantly. I'd use them again on a cooking car without the slightest hesitation. I'm inclined to put all seasons on anything I'm using in the UK that isn't a rip snorting monster.

Ironically it's probably a better car to use on gritted roads than most modern stuff, by my recollection they really nailed the corrosion protection on them?
Thanks, out of interest, were they 5's or 6's? I assume the 6's are better anyway but you never know!
They were Quatrac 6.
Thanks, ordered from Camskill as I need to get them sorted really.
Wait, so my suggestion was a good one? That’s a first!

That C63 is quite the car, I have not been able to use it in anger since purchase, until last night. I am in Surrey and the area has resembled a swamp recently. However a dry line was observed on my local test track (Newlands Corner) during the afternoon and so it got taken up there and back down tonight. The dog was in the passenger seat-they are semi buckets so he is ok.

I use the Xmas tree Cayenne up there and it's good for a 20 year old behemoth, must have been mind blowing in 2004.

That AMG feels like an amalgamation of three cars I have owned in the past-an E39 M5, a 355 F1 and a purple Integrale 16 valve

Lumpy bits on the bonnet to look at and wide arches and a potentially violent V8 engine with a dimwitted gearbox and a Germanic interior.

It is however getting an LSD PDQ otherwise it's going to end up in a hedge.

My R129 came out of storage this week and it is another car that always amazes me when I think when it was released, have had 107's but this car was a leap for Mercedes.

Wind deflectors and tints in the bin to make this a lovely winter smoker.

Great to hear the C63 is in favour.

I finally got my 500SL back on the road on Friday with a new MOT and the ASR bits replaced and I had genuinely forgotten quite how well it goes. Sadly petrol doesn't seem to last too long in it.

Not sure of the links policy, but here's an unusual one I saw on Reddit. A Chevrolet Epica turbo diesel manual that he can't seem to shift. Trying to sell it for £1500 but apparently hasn't had an offer above £250.

Worth a punt for anyone here?!

The market has spoken. It's not worth much.

It has a slight misfire and the owner cannot afford to fix... The mot has expired in 2017. I believe it is a Nikasil engine as well?

Be aware that there are lots of Quatrac models suffixed with various names/numbers, it can be confusing. The ones that are just called Quatrac are the best/top model (or they were when I bought mine).

We have Quatrac 5 on the Panda, Quatrac on the Century and Comtrac on the campervan. All good.

Thanks, the no-number ones are big size only, I think. Not much is available in 15" these days, but either way, I'm sure they will be fine for a 30-year-old Audi 100 that is currently on 2009 and 2015 tyres!

May I draw your attention to photo 4?... smile
I can't tell whether it's the door and front bumper, or bonnet and wing that's been painted hehe
Less to lose on this one, but it comes with a few "niggles".

High Peak autos on YouTube did one of these, it seemed fine and looked OK from ten feet away.
When he sent it to be properly assessed yikes, it was fooked underneath.

The GM bought Daewoo and rebranded it as Chevrolet. I never understood the point of making the muscle brand to be associated with this white goods make (Daewoo Matiz that chinese "bought" the plans for and were copying en masse in Chiina). A complete disaster for a Chevrolet brand imho.

Why not run it into the ground then? Since it is so undesirable.

Worth mentioning my dads E39 (just the *20i) dropped a valve and caused a misfire.
Hard to discern initially as the engine was very smooth and it could be driven ‘around’ but they aren’t 100% bulletproof as some would have you believe.

A brave move.
The colour is marmite.
The spec is just a badge, no one is really going wow over a 16 year old Jag that wasn’t very popular.

The rotton sills were a shock though. But a lot of his purchases are blind which is a bit of a concern when you’re in the buying and selling business.

Was tempted by one of these and went to see it, the interior feels like you are in an old Bentley and that engine is certainly "special" just not in a good way. It is not very muscular and is very (overly) complex. It actually sums up the expression "just cos you can do it, doesn't mean you should". They are designed to overheat (something to do with the bonkers cylinder architecture)

Shame as my dog seemed to like it.

Mostly all of the stock he has is overpriced. I bought a car unseen for a £1000 then spent a fortune on it in the hope to claw back some of my money. If all else fails I’ll stick on the raffle website.
