People seem to be going for 24/36 month leases in the main, any particular reason why nobody really seems to go for the 48 month option?
The monthlies on 24 month leases can sometimes be similar, or even cheaper, than those on 36 month leases on the same vehicle. Its nicer to be able to upgrade every 2 as opposed to 3 years if the cost is similar.

Most people avoid 4 year deals because they dread the thought of leasing outside warranty and having to spend money repairing a car only to hand it back soon after.
Also, unless you do a high mileage, on a two year lease, you'll probably only have to pay for the first, usually cheap service, a longer lease will probably mean you have to pay for the second service too, this one is often more expensive too. You'll need to pay for at least one MOT too. And you'll often get away without buying any tyres on a two year lease.

Just to add, longer leases are also a greater commitment, who knows what could happen during the 4 year term.

For anyone in the market for a speedy oil burner, there are very impressive offers back on the top end 3-series diesels. I took advantage of a 335d x-drive offer 2 years ago and it has been superb...immense torque and it's never gone below 40mpg (mostly motorway driving). Not sure where to go next to be honest - test-drove an S3 and it felt flat in comparison, so I'll likely keep for another year

That's a pretty good deal, comes in at pretty much 25% when adjusted to 3+23 10k miles. These have been hit with the £40k+ VED increase so haven't been this cheap for a bit.

I got a quote for a Seat Leon 1.4TSI 125 FR Technology last week - 3+23, 8k miles, £173.

The car is for my wife, but she has spent so much time deciding if she actually likes the car that when I rang the dealer today he has told me the prices have risen over the weekend...not yet sure but looking at other sites it'll be up nearer £200.

Unfortunate, but I guess that's the way of cheap lease deals.

Was looking at this as a second car, seems like a good deal to me but has anyone seen anything similar?

Looks like you could save yourself a whopping £70 over two years by using Freedom Contracts (lower monthlies but with a £240 fee).

Probably dodged a bullet anyway, as the 125bhp is not as good as the 150bhp version at all - it's a much better drive with the higher output, even general driving too. We have this engine with ACT in our A3, and when you push it right, it shifts!

I was given the same advice and did the same thing via a main VW dealer. It's either going to be start of July or start of October apparently.

We'll find out in a fortnight...
I'd wager your first months rental that your dealer has no idea what is coming in the pipeline, just hot air

Long time lurker, first time thread poster here......

We are just over 3 years into our first personal lease (Mini Cooper D, 6 x 47 (£200.50p/month) maintained and starting to have a look for a replacement for the Mrs for when the lease finally expires.

We're after something similar or perhaps a Golf (liked to looks of the VW deal via Whatcar as posted above) but obviously it's a bit early to be doing much and plenty can change but I have a couple of questions please:

People seem to be going for 24/36 month leases in the main, any particular reason why nobody really seems to go for the 48 month option?

Is maintenance worth going for generally speaking?

Are there any particular times that deals seem to be more widely available? Posters referring to end of quarters, any particular one? Limited for my needs admittedly but worth knowing.

Thanks
Something similar....

Mini Cooper S
9+35 @ £199.90 = £8,795.60
8k miles
No admin fee I think

Anyone know if you can get a pushchair in a Mini? I'm guessing not.
There's not a simple answer. It depends on the pushchair and also how many parts you want to take off the pushchair each time. For Example a standard Bugaboo with the pram top won't simply when you take the top part off and try and put the two parts in. However if you take all 4 wheels off, the handle off the pram top, remove the straps so the pram top goes flat then sure no problem but you won't want to do that when it's bucketing with rain or you just want to nip out for 5 minutes.

Argh, my 335dx Touring goes back soon and would sign up today for another one but they're £200/month more than the saloon :-/

Get a quote for how much it is to extend for another year? Or just let it roll on past the return date....

VW Golf GTI 3dr DSG - how does this deal compare with others out there?

6+23, 8000 miles pa, £326 (inc VAT) non maintained, and an extra £9 for fully maintained - £335. xs miles is about 11p.

This includes two options, Pure White paint and 19" Brescia alloys.

Shockingly bad. I believe they were around half this price a while back, which I would've been all over

Had a look and they were ~£4,900 with no options and 6,000 miles. It would be hard to take up an offer like that one knowing how low they were

Cheap deals on KIA Optima Diesel Sportswagon 1.7 CRDi ISG 2 5dr are back, around £5300 for two years. Cars are well specced as standard.

https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/personal/ca...

I went to check it out and was shocked by the plastics but maybe it's good enough for someone as daily driver.

Fair bit of car for the money. My GF has a Sportage which I expect is similar and it's fairly decent for the money, although I admit it would be shocking jumping out of an S8 (it's bad compared to my S5) but the cost is also worlds apart

Volvo T4 S60 SE Nav
10k miles

9+23 @ £227 = £7,264 (25% of list)

190bhp, leather, cruise, nav, etc.

Seems a pretty good deal even if it's not very exciting? Anyone know Volvo's excess mileage cost?

I'm used to different rental cars driven all around the world so it shouldn't be a shock. I drove Kia on at least three occasions, Forte in Canada, Ceed in Germany and Picanto in Seychelles. Last one was almost devastated but I was impressed that it was still on the road after such abuse. Did not think plastics could be so bad in Optima.

It puts into perspective daily driver bargain search and means I have to check every car before ordering it. BTW, Volvo S60 is quite ok, drove one in USA (T5 AWD) and it was much nicer than most standard rental cars. Spec is also reasonable. Might not be exciting but it's definitely comfortable.

I don't think they have one. They took a punt that most Volvo drivers will have given up driving before the lease term is over.

I would not say shockingly bad at all it is probably about the price they are at the moment.

A very quick search on SelectCarLeasing has them at £283.23 on a 6+23 with 8k, and that's the manual. Not sure on the cost of options there for the wheels and paint but for the DSG that seems pretty good with options.

Its worth checking out the WhatCar leasing site as the dealers may be able to match and with no fee which could be slightly more attractive.

There are rumours of there being more deals on VW products in the next few weeks but that is yet to be seen.

I don't understand how a deal can be described as shockingly bad when compared to a limited offer on a very limited number of cars. That came and went, too often we see comments that a certain price is not good as once upon a time it was available for a much cheaper price - that's gone now, move on.
