The ultimate value of the trade in is not the figure to be looking at. The important figure is cost to change. What were you going to replace it with and what has been happening to the cost of those?

Exactly this, we were looking at M40d's to replace our X4 with and or though ours has held its value the replacement is still 25 grand plus to change to.

At the current moment in time that 25 grand is better off in my savings rather than chucking it against a car to replace one that next week will just break 50k miles and is only just over 6 years old.

I did try the likes of Motorway etc to get a rough guide on trade in etc.

Second that. Except that the cars I was looking at have also dropped in price, but not as much. Pennies stay in the bank atm I think.

£1,500 drop in 3 months from historic peak values into Xmas period, is nothing new.
That's my thoughts. Doesn't seem much at all considering we're coming from ridiculous used prices and it's Christmas.
