What’s maintenance going to look like on a 14 year old jag?

I had a 123d coupe which was remapped to 260 bhp, mid 40s mpg and quite a nippy little thing

Paid £4995 for mine with all the work done that should be done, cambelt, water pump, full service history and inlet manifolds.
Insane levels of varied specs too. I went for a portfolio, bit you can also find then with them with adaptive cruise control. Mines in immaculate condition.

Golf isn't a bad shout although I doubt it's anywhere near the quickest.
Also consider the Leon FR and the Octavia vRS. There's faster stuff out there but probably not many with as much rear legroom and boot space as the Octavia.

I always just assumed they were super unreliable but a post in this same forum listing my requirements, someone suggested an XF and I'd always liked the shape, some further digging and it looks like they're actually incredible value for money, I now have a silver 10 plate XF S 3.0d v6 sat on the drive, it's genuinely a thing of beauty inside and out.

My n57 engined 330d easily does +40mpg.
Highest I’ve had was 53mpg. Not bad for a 245hp 3.0l engine.
Should also remap to 300hp easily and still do 40+.

Did a 50 mile trip this morning down the motorway, average speed of 60ish and hit am average 51.4 mog.

Not bad at all for a 3.0 V6 twin turbo oil burner with 275bhp.
