Alpina B5 GT Touring.

And I say that despite not being a BMW fan boy.

Remember that if it is for the next 15 years you or your wife may have children ( maybe together, or maybe she will have some by another man but not tell you wink ) So you might need and SUV/MPV.

I had to be the miserable old ba$tard, because I would not be able to get in/out of so many of the cars that fall into the given parameters

With those criteria I'd be quite happy with my M135i, thanks.
Same here - as a daily driver I’d want something small with 5 doors and low running costs that can be parked in the station car park or do the school run, kids can tramp mud in, etc so i don’t have to be too precious about it. Going under the radar is a bonus and also some comfort is nice which rules out any of the more “focused” offerings with big wings and concrete beams as suspension.

Guess it depends what your daily usage looks like!!

None of the rules state that the wife can't drive the kids in a different car smile

No one needs an SUV.

Lexus GSF. Would more likely to be working after 15 years than most things mentioned.

Also big NA V8 is gloriously old school.

Almost bought one of these myself, just wish they did an estate though, but still very tempted.

Last of the line Mustang GT350R with the track pack:

https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2017-ford-shel...

Or it would be the complete opposite of the GT350R & I'd go looking for a Jeep Trackhawk & add some upgrades so it was around 850 at the wheels biglaugh

I'm going to assume a V60 Cross Country or a petrol Golf Alltrack can be remapped to be that fast.
The V60 Cross Country has the worst, most unsophisticated secondary ride quality of almost any car I've ever driven (and I've owned more than 70 cars over the years)
