Mercedes GLE 400d would be my pick:
I second this as well. The engine is lovely for a diesel(the best diesel engine I've experienced up to yet), and the 7 seats come in handy occasionally too. Plus the interior is also a really nice place to spend time I reckon. A very good all round practical car I think.

I'm also a big fan of the X5 40d as well(my brother in law had one).

Went through this recently, almost identical criteria.

Ended up with a Cayenne GTS.

Been great so far driving
I went through this 10 years ago and ended up with a Cayenne GTS. Was tempted to switch it out for a newer one and the dealer told my to stick with what I had.

Looking at ideas for the next family wagon.

So really.. which one is most reliable at this age?
Leaving the first and last lines in your original post.

It has got to say Lexus on the front, hasn't it?

I’d consider a Cayenne with 2 yr OPC warranty ad they can suffer expensive niggles especially electrics . My next SUV will be a Levante S as I loved the engine on my old Ghibli and AWD makes using it a lot easier.
Trofeo would nice though😜

I was looking for an SUV for my wife recently, thought about the JLR stuff and the bork factor put me right off! Looked at Ford Edge, the Vignale with full leather etc. Although we owned one for two years in Florida my wife decided she didn't like the look. I know these aren't premium, but it depends what you mean by premium. We ended up increasing our budget and got a RAV4, the Dynamic model comes with gloss black wheels, black roof and full leather interior, it's a really nice car and the cabin is a really nice pace to be. Would highly recommend. Although, again, may not be considered premium enough, but its certainly nice enough for us. Our is in Obsidian Blue.
