Getting advice at twenty years old on being cool from PH. You might as well get them to tell you what they did during the war. Ask them about their collection of "funny" t-shirts too.

Just buy something that works, keeps the weather out and is insurable. Keep it in good condition, but most of all keep it clean and stink-free inside.

I need me an Inata-ho.
Expensive to run. ULEZ compliant, but depreciation is a major issue.

You guys are very funny, never expected to get this many replies, I think I’ll just go ahead and buy a Yaris as it’s the car I want ahahah. Who knows, having a car not many boys my age have might actually be an attraction

Welcome to PH loads of opiated loads of old blokes who know better... buy what you like and enjoy the freedom. Having a car that doesn't breakdown makes you a player. Hopefully.

When I were your age.... ahem...

All my mates were buying Corsas, Fiestas and Saxos as first cars because that's what everyone else was buying and what I suppose was considered cool back then.

I bought a four year old mid spec Mk4 Astra. Not the conventional first car choice of the time, but it was bigger than anything my mates were buying, more comfortable, no more expensive to run, cheaper to insure and provided lots of extra space for doing things young people do, fingerblasting and going to McDs drive throughs.

We don't use heroin any more. The cool blokes round here are into the latest synthetics. And drive a BMW 335d.

Basically I have the option of a VW POLO, Audi A1 or a Yaris, I myself love the look of the Yaris the most, but most people my age would argue the Audi and VW Polo are cooler
If you are a slave to what your peers think of you, then you are doomed.

In nearly 35 years of motoring the only car I've had that has had positive comments from women was a Nissan Juke.

Buy what you want and don't care what others think.

(I'd agree with the other poster who said a 1.8 SR Yaris would be cooler than a new one).

None of these cars are my idea of cool, they are dull, boring hatchbacks.

Most women have no idea what car you're driving, if that's your plan.

Some people think vaping is "cool" but you just look like a tw@t.

My son has an MR2 Mk 3. For a 17 year old, it may be "cool" but it requires 23 year old car maintenance.

Buy a car you like, one you like driving, forget what others think.

Right, off to see a 2011 Panda, no remote, no a/c but cool and everyone will go "Aah".

The 2022 Mazda 2 is a rebadged Yaris.
