I was always happiest sat in the centre rear seat, assuming there’s a seat belt fitted.

Depends if you really intend to have adults sat in the back. You mentioned wanting a Boxster which obviously is a 2 seater so maybe it's not that important?

I tried to sit in the back of a mk3 TT which is apparently a but better. At only 5 foot 8 I didn't fit. Legroom cam be improved by putting the front passenger seat forward but my head was squashed up against the rear screen. If I had one it wouldn't be an issue as the only rear seat passenger I ever have is my 7 year old son. The boor space with seats folded is also pretty good, much better than in 2 seat coupes like the Cayman.

A similar car you could consider would be a Scirocco. Same 2.0 tfsi engine and 2 use able back seats. May be slightly cheaper than a TT too.

I like the scirocco but I much prefer the look of the tt. Back seats isnt a big deal but I won’t complain with 2 back seats regardless of room

I've had both. Sure, it's doable in the 911, it's definitely not in the TT.

I’ve had a Mk1 and a Mk2. I’m a short arse and tried to get into the back of each. I didn’t fit. There’s no leg room and there’s also no head room. It really isn’t a car for carrying adult passengers.

I loved both of mine though. Mk1 or Mk2 you’re going to be buying an old car and so the likelihood of issues is going to be the same. I’d head over to ttforum. Easily one of the best owners sites there is. Registering should get you access to the classifieds.

I think I probably preferred my Mk1. Timeless design and different enough to the Mk2 and Mk3 that it still looks fresh to me in the right colour.
