5K. I'm hoping that VWFS do offer half-price on excess miles as suggested by other posters on PH, as I've covered 400 miles in a fortnight!
I was just as sceptical but it worked for me in August with the R deal.

Upped the miles from 20000 to 25000 with 6 months to go.
Admin fee: £60
Monthly payments increased by £19.93 (6 payments remaining)
Cost per mile = 3.5916
The only "catch" is you cannot pick a random number of miles. It is blocks of 5000.

As an aside:
Extending the R for another year was going to cost £60/month extra (based on a quote a friend got and he is below the 20000 miles cap) so this GTI deal is mighty tempting and I have asked for a quote.

Did your monthly payment stay the same for the Golf R extension?
No the monthlies increased but some of the increase was due to my projected mileage going well over the 5k pa. Was a bit of a no brainer as it meant deferring a chunky IR payment on a new lease....plus I wanted to keep the car a bit longer!
With my two year Golf R lease coming to an end they kindly offered to extend the lease for £534 per month, from £312 .... we agreed I'd hand it back.

shame the golf seats are awful - hate that tartan trim. would have to be leather but with that option over 24 months breaks my lease deal rules - I would never add options.

If it's a 1+23, 7.2ppm, zero admin fee, it's about £100 more over the term than Central. So decent, certainly.

Wow, that is steep - my monthly payments went up £80 pm for the final 7 months (inc the 6 month extension I have extended the lease). I rang them back in June. Not sure if something has changed internally since that they have hiked up the prices.

I'd pay slightly more over the term to avoid having to sink £2k as a deposit. Would rather have that money in my possession for 23 months!

I'm waiting on a few people getting back to me but it's sounding like a decent deal, co-coinciding nicely with my car selling yesterday.

Central is £5,124 for 5k p.a., 10k over the term. Adding £720 for the extra 10k miles then you're about £110 more, so that's £110 in 'interest' for a reduction in your outlay of nearly £1,800.

If you will be doing a very low mileage, or if the excess mileage is much higher on this (it's almost certainly the same) then Central will be better, otherwise there's nothing in it.

CVL will do a 1+23 on any deal, just email them. I've done it before. No price increase.

Was told by CVL that they can't see the waiting time being any longer than 6 weeks for the GTI's.

Well nearly: I asked for 1+23 or failing that 3+23 . They only offered the latter for about 50 quid more over the term which I've gone for:

Golf Gti 5Dr DSG - £569.97 upfront and 23 x £189.99 inc VAT
£180 fee
5k
7.2ppm excess
Colour TBC (but I'm not that bothered, metalic would be nice but I wouldn't pay for it.)

Irresistible. Will make a decent replacement for my ultra bargain 1+17 10K £166/mth 208 Gti Prestige. 40 quid more a month for bigger, as quick, German, 2 more doors, DSG, Active Cruise, Keyless. I was looking at Golf Rs but I don't need anything that quick really and I actually think the Gti looks better than the R, at least without paying extra for wheels. And at this price my mind was made up for me.

Can't push the delivery back beyond December and my Pug goes back in Feb so may have a choice of GTis for a month or so.......smile

How are you guys all getting responses from CVL? I've not heard anything back yet.

Took about 2 hours for me... won't be going for it as I don't want to have to deal with two cars between December and March.

Sent my form off about an hour ago, nothing yet. They did say that they had a very good uptake with orders so far.
