Thats a fair comment - although my method is to try to avoid the brokers wherever possible and go directly to the dealer - you have a more direct point of contact in terms of progress and delivery and don't have a broker fee to pay either.
Yes I have done that once and it was good but more often than not the fee more than paid for a price I couldn't get direct (which is the entire premise of a broker I suppose, leveraging critical mass). UKADV said:
Thanks for that, it seems it is 4 weeks to invoice.Anybody got any advice on returning a car, please? First lease goes back soon. Not sure if there are any tips. It’s with Arval if anybody knows what they are like to deal with. Seem OK so far.
In particular i have some damage on an alloy which looks like a stone chip. I’ve booked it in for repair at a cost of £120 but I’m concerned that 1) I need not bother it’ll be cheaper to accept a fine; and 2) they’ll spot it and charge for it anyway.
Cheers

Cant comment on Arval but when my last lease went back a marked alloy outwith the BVRLA guidelines was noted on the return inspection form, fella said its about £40. It was BCA that did the inspection on behalf of VWFS. Car was duly collected and a bill for £36 from VWFS followed. In particular i have some damage on an alloy which looks like a stone chip. My Touareg is due to be delivered next month however haven’t decided on a date yet as waiting for collection details to come through on my current lease.
I called the dealer today who’s supplying the new car and asked about when it’s going to be registered, they stated it will be registered on the day of delivery however it already has a number plate? I’d of thought it would be registered a number plate when it’s registered or am I going mad?

Dealers are allocated the registration numbers in advance (before they're assigned to a specific vehicle) and are able to complete the registration closer to the delivery date (for tax and MOT reasons). Some people who go into a dealer to buy a car from them are shown a list of pre-allocated registration numbers and told they can pick anything they like from the list.I'm awaiting delivery of a new car (delayed by Coronavirus). It's a 20 plate and I was given the registration number (so I could insure it) back in late February, but it's still not showing on the DVLA systems and probably won't until closer to or a few days after the delivery.

That's quick. Was it production slot or did you choose car that was already built?I called the dealer today who’s supplying the new car and asked about when it’s going to be registered, they stated it will be registered on the day of delivery however it already has a number plate? Damage to an alloy has to be greater than 50mm long now I believe.
The issue on your wheel looks like 'whiteworm' corrosion thats been caused by the initial chip which has allowed moisture under the clearcoat.

So do people just leave this rather than repair. Sorry for the lease novice questions. I don’t mind paying £40 but the Arval guide says TBC next to wheel damage beyond the 50mm bit and I don’t want a bill for a whole new alloy.
Or am I over thinking this? Or indeed should I just call and ask?

I’d just ask and see what they say - informed decision either way then.So do people just leave this rather than repair. Sorry for the lease novice questions. I don’t mind paying £40 but the Arval guide says TBC next to wheel damage beyond the 50mm bit and I don’t want a bill for a whole new alloy.

Due to return my first lease in 3 weeks (Lex Autolease). Wondering what the general practice is...freshly washed and valeted? Dirtier the better to help cover any slight blemishes? Or just in a general state of cleanliness? Only thing they’ve mentioned is leaving at least a quarter tank.
Also, should I be using some T-Cut on any slight scratches and swirling? Or best just to leave alone.
Finally, any experience of Lex welcome also. I asked them for a damage charge matrix but they say they don’t have one (although someone posted one in the Best Deals thread so not sure if they’re just being awkward or if that was just an old matrix someone had). They just direct me to the BVLA guidelines.
Cheers

You certainly don't need a professional clean unless the car is totally minging - just a normal wash and vac/dust on the inside will be sufficient to allow the inspector to see the cars condition clearly.
Don't worry about swirls in the paint - they wont be remotely interested. If the paint is actually scratched down to primer/metal (ie; over the
BVRLA limits) thats a different matter but they do not expect cars to be returned in showroom splendour condition.
One thing I do is touch in any stone chips with a cheap ebay nail varnish size touch up brush but thats about it regarding general presentation for hand back.

I'm trying to arrange collection of my Audi S4. BCA are closed, and my cars details are not recognised when inputting them on the BCA portal.
I've informed Audi FS of this, and they pretty much ignored everything in my email and told me to contact BCA (which I'm unable to do).
Is anyone else having issues arranging inspections and collections with BCA?
My contract ends on the 5th July, but there is a service count down which will be due on the 10th July which is after my contract is finished. I informed Audi of this on the email, but that was just ignored. Obviously when the car gets collected, it will say service due, so not sure where I'll stand with this and don't want to be charged for a late service despite me wanting rid of the car.
I actually had the car serviced just over a year ago in May 2019. The car is on long life servicing, not due for another 4000 miles (38,000), so not sure why it's popped up now.

With regards to BCA not recognising your details, I had an issue with mine that it suggested you needed to put the leading zeros of your agreement number, when in reality you didn't. So perhaps try your agreement number without the zero's at the start. Hope it works.I've informed Audi FS of this, and they pretty much ignored everything in my email and told me to contact BCA (which I'm unable to do).

has anyone had any luck with getting compensation from dealers over unused milege?
Were about to return a nearly two year motor with nearly 10000 miles under! not great! was think of putting it on a rolling road just because its annoying!
Asked but no joy. Wondered if anyone else had?
It's possible to re-negotiate contract with finance company and change to lower miles but not every company will agree to it, and it would have to be done during the contract, not at the end.
