With regards to BCA not recognising your details, I had an issue with mine that it suggested you needed to put the leading zeros of your agreement number, when in reality you didn't. So perhaps try your agreement number without the zero's at the start. Hope it works.
VWFS need to "send the details" to BCA, which appears to be an overnight process

We went through this loop and once the details were sent, the rest was painless. BCA have been operating for weeks. Even Manheim are up and running

has anyone had any luck with getting compensation from dealers over unused milege?

Were about to return a nearly two year motor with nearly 10000 miles under! not great! was think of putting it on a rolling road just because its annoying!

Asked but no joy. Wondered if anyone else had?
It's possible to re-negotiate contract with finance company and change to lower miles but not every company will agree to it, and it would have to be done during the contract, not at the end.

Agreed. I returned my SEAT Cupra well below the allowed mileage and SEAT said they would have reduced the monthly premium but they needed to know before the final 6 months.

So do people just leave this rather than repair. Sorry for the lease novice questions. I don’t mind paying £40 but the Arval guide says TBC next to wheel damage beyond the 50mm bit and I don’t want a bill for a whole new alloy.

Or am I over thinking this? Or indeed should I just call and ask?
Personally I'd wait to see what gets picked up, if anything, on the inspection. A run through a car wash, a quick hoover inside and a new air freshener. Quick touch-up of any chips and all the bits the guy looks for sitting laid out on the passenger seat, spare keys, sat nav memory card, handbook etc. Once he's finished the report you'll have something solid to make a call on and a rough estimate of any charges.

Just thought i would share my recent experience with my leased Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce. After torrential rain a couple of weeks back i had water ingress in the NSF headlight (car was sat on driveway whilst this occured), could see condensation in the lense which was effecting lights. Booked car in to investigate fault and dealer has reported that water has made its way into the control unit. They have agreed to replace the headlight under warranty, which is good for me as the cost is over £1500 not including labour cost. First time in my 5 years of leasing I've had any issues like this but this is the benefit of having car in warranty, still a bit disappointed that I've had to do it as I've only had the car 8 months.

My Abarth broke down at 4200 miles and is also rusting. Have appointment booked for Monday for rust. A8 visited Audi dealership so many times for warranty repairs, that I lost count of it. Leased car is no different from any other brand new one, under warranty.

hindsight is a wonderful thing. Had we known we were going to be locked down 6 months ago at renegotiation stage then that would of course be the best course of action. However like insurance companies rebating drivers for "not driving" i dont see why lease firms arent doing the same. I' m off to the rolling road, especially if i can plug it in while moving and use the garages electric!

Not many insurers are rebating are they?
I can’t see why the lease co’s should provide a rebate for lower miles.

Hi all, looking for some advice as I’m new to leasing.

Ordered a Megane RS280 on the 27th May. Delivery has been quoted the week beginning 27th July so getting close.

So far I’ve just paid the arrangement fee £340, signed all the paperwork (address, living arrangements, Job, Income Bank Details etc). Had an email back saying I was approved by the finance house (no credit check) and they’ll send the finance paperwork over for me to sign.

Still haven’t got the finance agreement to sign. Have asked for updates from the guy I’ve been dealing with from the very beginning. Just get sent a generic weekly update email saying your build number is N/A and it’s due to arrive the 27th. Is this normal? Just feel a bit disconnected from the whole process and I’m just going to have it dumped on my drive at some point!

What is the best kind of Gap insurance to go for, as there’s many different kinds it appears.

Thanks

Managed to get sorted now. They're carrying out the inspection and collection on the same day, which will be next Wednesday. A sad day indeed.

How did you resolve it in the end?

I still can’t get through on phone, had no response to my emails and the website portal doesn’t recognise my details (even after dropping the ‘0000’).

It definitely wasn’t this much of a pain to hand back on my previous VWFS lease.

You will get actual finance documents closer to delivery date, maybe a week before or so.

Regarding GAP, Finance Gap or Contract Hire Gap https://www.ala.co.uk/gap-insurance/contract-hire-... If you're paying significant initial, you can insure it too, by choosing extra option. If you choose ALA, there's discount code MSE25. You can also look for other companies, which could be cheaper, even without the code. https://totallossgap.co.uk/ is usually the cheapest. You can get quote from them, price match it with ALA and then use discount code MSE25.

I was emailing VWFS, they didn't get back to me a second time but I think they eventually realised that they hadn't sent my lease details to BCA. I recieved a text message from BCA yesterday with a link to the portal, my details (agreement number etc) worked then.

Is it Fleet.Administration@vwfs.co.uk you've been emailing? My issue seems to have been sorted since dealing with them through that email address.

Thanks.

I’ll give that email a try - I’d been using the online form to get in touch with them.

Sorry I should have said before, but if you haven't already emailed it's worth sending the following info across to save time as they'll only ask for it anyway:

'Agreement in the Name of:

Postcode

Date of birth:

Last 4 digits of bank account number:

Month and year agreement started:

Length of agreement:

Please can you confirm you are happy for us to contact (insert email address) without further verification.

Please can you confirm if there have been any changes to your contact details since your last communication with us?'

Cheers.

What lead times are BCA giving for collection in different areas?

My Skoda in Bradford.. Earliest collection is 7 weeks away on 25th August.
Can see a lot of cars having to be parked up on the road awaiting collection, and possibly being damaged.

I booked my slot on the portal yesterday for both inspection and collection next Wednesday. I'm in Wakefield, so not too far from you.

Anyone requested recently buyout price on https://purchasemyvehicle.co.uk/ ? It finally recognises my car (3 months till the end of lease with VWFS), but doesn't give me automatic quote. I requested formal quote by email as per website but haven't heard anything back.

Is it possible to get a car lease while on furlough, or is it a non-starter?

Hi All,

I had my previous lease from Santander Consumer Finance and my credit file only ever showed my finance as the amount left to be paid for the 2 year period that was left (e.g. 8k dropping every month).

I now have a car with Nissan Finance and it is showing the whole value of the car (£24k) even though I don't own the car and have no option to buy at the end of the lease.
My understanding was that it would show approximately £8k.

I will be applying for a Mortgage next year to move to a bigger house and I don't want it to be showing that I have lots of finance.

Does anyone know if Nissan should be showing the whole value of the car, I called them and they insist that is what it should be showing.
