Why do people get so worked about things?!

It's like people bemoaning others for choosing to lease a car if the sums are adding up - I'm not sure how having chucked a big chunk of their personal capital at a depreciating asset gives them a right to look down their nose at others. Comments I see such as "chavs renting white diesel Audi's" just make me laugh.
It usually the people with a 6-7 year old car who kick up the most fuss.

As you said, why people get so uptight on how someone else is buying things is beyond me.

It should be very much, and to be fair this thread does chuck some very good deals up, about sharing what we think is a good lease deal. No ones forcing them to buy it.

There's another site doing that isn't there? What are the legalities on this, I take the leasing company has to be involved as they hold the V5 don't they??

Anyway, I was just thinking about the other company that offers this service at lunch time. I'm thinking about leasing and I need to get a car before I change my mind about what I want. Leasing a Golf R and then waiting 4 months on it being delivered just doesn't wash with me.

Yeah, you can check the FAQ on my site but basically it's only a place to advertise.

The rest is handled with the buyer and seller, and it's like taking out the lease yourself but obviously skipping the initial deposit and potentially having the car for a shorter (less risky) term.

You'd still need a credit check, and there's a "administration" fee (most of the times £100) to transfer. But it almost always makes a LOT more sense than taking the initial hit, and people usually find they're stuck in a contract they can't get out of!

It's five years' interest free credit, probably HP (i.e., the interest is built into the price).

Interesting how?

Unlimited mileage? Yup that's HP

No balloon? Yup that's HP

Hand the car back to the finance company after you've paid 50%? Standard consumer right with HP

They're not offering anything new, or over and above any other dealer in the country. It's just a 0% HP deal, and you would have paid the subsidy in the price of the car. There's no such thing as a free lunch wink

In theory, very good idea. However, have you checked the legalities of this?

It's not as simple as taking on the direct debit from someone else as the finance company have taken on you and not another person.

In regards to website itself needs to show current (approx.) mileage, and in the event you get more adverts on there, would like a drop down for make/model next to the sort function

As I said it's got potential, but almost certain you can't just "swap" a lease to someone else sadly.

Yes, first thing I did was to check the legalities of the process.

Speaking to a couple of brokers and there is a process in place whereby you can transfer the lease from one party to another.

Although as suggested you cannot simply take the direct debit over from the seller (also the seller wouldn't want the risk attached as he'd still be liable in that instance!).

The representations are all made by the seller to the finance company who would basically be starting out a new lease deal with the finance company for the remainder of the lease period.

The difference being that the initial deposit would have already been satisfied and the lease period will be dramatically lower (depending on when the seller is getting rid of the car).

I very much appreciate your feedback, I'll work to add sort by make and model. I've added the current mileage now smile.

Wondering if we'll see a bunch of Golf R's listed on there at some point in the near future smile!

But he was referring to the link that had been posted on numerous occasions over the last few pages.

http://www.tilsungroup.com/mercedes-e+class-e350-b...

Click on it and it shows all.

MERCEDES E CLASS E350 BLUETEC AMG LINE PREMIUM PLUS 5DR TIP AUTO DIESEL ESTATE

£289.99
per month (+VAT)

Personal Leasing
£347.99 (Inc. VAT)

Initial Payments
£1,739.94 (+VAT)
Is now showing £362 inc vat for personal. Damn I missed it...
It's only £14 a month more, not exactly 'missed'.
Apologies, I was looking at the £289 pcm + vat, didn't spot that was the business price

www.swap-a-lease.co.uk has been around for many years now, I don't know how successful it is. My only suggestion to you is that you don't get involved with the paperwork side of lease swapping at all, it's a pain in the neck / arse. Purely as an advertising site, it could do well. I'd get rid of the terms & conditions that you have to agree to before even browsing the site however.

lease swaps are pretty hard to come by these days, when they were more common in the past. Make of that what you will. It's not a new concept.

Any recommendations on lease companies? I've contacted freedoncontracts twice and still received no quotes.

Signed the £2200 + 23x £180pcm +VAT for the Golf R 5dr DSG deal... still available for anyone on the edge hehe

It's £150pcm for manual, +£30pcm for DSG, +£21pcm if you can't live with Tornado Red.

Delivery not until Feb/March 2015, but that coincides perfectly with the termination of my current deal.

It's a close run thing, but I can do a Dynamique version on a 3+35 6k pa for £161.95 inc battery lease. Just add the VAT for a personal lease price. You don't need to be a powerfully built director with a natty goaty either!

Whilst 180 seems very cheap (and 150 bonkers) the 12 payments up front are a bit sobering.
