So why are we all so disappointed that the Rolls Royce here has been clocked?
Surely the statement absolves them of any responsibility.
Because the “Provenance” certification RR boast about on their website reassures punters who consider spaffing massive amounts of moolah into one of their pre-owned cars that:Surely the statement absolves them of any responsibility.

Regardless of age, each Provenance motor car is a masterpiece unto itself, personally selected by the Rolls-Royce team. We demand that our collection be flawless in form and impressive in nature. By upholding a discerning attitude, we ensure that legacies are preserved for generations to come...
Before we award the Provenance title to a certified, pre-owned Rolls-Royce, it must be thoroughly trialed and tested against our legendary standards. Each selected car undergoes a comprehensive, 360 degree inspection and is exhaustively detailed with a written record of its full history before being labelled as certified. As a Provenance owner, you will experience a Rolls-Royce that drives as beautifully as it did the day it was originally released from Goodwood.

We are disappointed because its not a £30,000 Lexus is a £100,000+ Rolls. You gained a refund for your car not being advertised correctly the OP was sold a car that had both been advertised incorrectly and been clocked, and the dealer wasn't bothered initially!Surely the statement absolves them of any responsibility.
Your issue was dealt with quickly by Lexus with you receiving a full refund, easy move on, the OP had to fight to get satisfactory action on a product costing around 4x the price.
The statement may not be in RR t and C's, I've not read them but RR responded eventually how they did because RR don't want their reputation muddied, they are a low volume manufacturer that sell a high ticket item, even on the used side.

My posts are generally about having a moan that all manufacturer approved used schemes are not as good as they should be. They charge a premium, and should check and stand by things like mileage!

Here's a Lexus used approved RCF...some youtube muppet completely wrapped the 6 layer paint, then unwrapped it. Got a quadbike to push it out of a field with a bale of hay as a cushion, took it to the drag strip etc etc they tried to sell it with an after market exhaust fitted by self muppet. Take their whole operation with a pinch of salt.
Owned by some guy called the Black Panthaa...for sale by Lexus Nottingham for £30k

It's not rare for road cars to get stuck in damp fields at outdoor events, and I've taken one of my cars to Santa Pod in the past. Neither situation necessarily means that this Lexus has been treated generally worse than any other. Presumably once the wrap was removed the car looked as good as it did when BlackPanthaa bought it, so it's been crashed or has missed services why wouldn't the dealer offer it for sale?Owned by some guy called the Black Panthaa...for sale by Lexus Nottingham for £30k

If you're worried that a used car might have been stuck in a field or driven enthusiastically once or twice then the dealers would love to discuss finance options on a brand new model with you. Step this way, sir
Well today Rolls Royce presented me with my new car, I’m ecstatic and they went above and beyond not only upgrading the car but also arranging a VIP handover at Goodwood, A massive thank you to everyone for your help, advice and support, hopefully some of the advice I have been given may help someone else in the future.

Lovely car - but those wheels. They don’t whisper ‘Rolls’ to me.hotwheels23 said:

HW23. It's a gorgeous machine, granted. Do hang around to share your thoughts on ownership of it. hotwheels23 said:
I got picked up at Edinburgh airport by a customer of ours in a Wraith, within a couple of miles I had ‘got’ what Rolls Royce was all about. It was just a phenomenal way to travel. He was absolutely smitten with it and we chatted about cars he’d previously owned. I’d always thought that Rolls Royce owners weren’t car guys but he’d owned some very special cars but loved the Rolls.
Lovely car OP, pleased you got a result.
