Then the Jeep Towing the Defender when it’s broken down.
I did see a tractor pulling an old landy pulling another old landy up a stretch of road outside Bickleigh in mid devon once. I stopped to take a photo of the awesomeness.

Anyone remember the Africar?

I seem to remember it pulling a Landie out of a river ford.

Time for custard? The OP can enjoy it spread over his bruised fruit.

I remember the TV documentary and I read the book a few years ago.

It was a good idea.

Presumably it was only used in hot and dry countries, then.

I very clearly remember my parents GSA refusing to start at the mere hint of moisture.

My Dyane was not a great starter but my parents 2cvs were wonderful, we toured Europe in them, two adults, two kids, a boot extension and a small trailer. Great memories.

I also remember the one gsa I briefly owned sat at around 95mph all day on 1220cc, like the 2cv, designed to be driven flat out, air cooled, simple, rather wonderful.

That's a Land Rover making a very steady journey along the route.

Yeah, that's pretty bad, this stuff always looks smaller and less gnarly in photos, too.

I think I'd rather deal with that than hardened clay tractor ruts or near bottomless mud, though.

TD5 Disco with or without a 2" lift kit if you're not looking to spend much.

It will happily deal with that all day long.

I sold my last one at 165K without any breakdowns or component failure, (apart from one air spring at about 120K).

Mine had a 2" lift with the obligatory larger tyres and was used as a daily London commuter, greenlaner and general dogsbody.

Isuzu pick up. You will need to carry materials up there at some stage.
As someone has said, 2 miles is a just a fell run warm-up. Other that a trials motor-bike for just up and back.
We moved from the South East to North Wales. Scottish roads in general are bad, so you will need something comfortable for terra-firma anyway.

If I were OP I would not give this much away - for fear of a counter offer before exchange.
